Anyone have a clue what the Nets are up to?

They look like a scrappy bad team.

I guess they picked up a few picks here and there.

Basketball Reference has a one page listing of every player's contract: https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/players.html

Just too bad it isn't sortable by position, which would allow useful comparisons.

[out of the Top 30 salaries, there's maybe 8 guys I'd pay what they're getting]

Imagine if all the NBA owners got together and purchased an NFL franchise.

You could see LeBron play year round.

Ginobili has retired.

Wonder if he'd stick around another year if Kawhi didn't bolt and SAS were a genuine contender.

Manu had a crazy legged style, introduced the Euro-step, and always seemed to make big plays -- steals, elbow 3's, a drive left to the rim, whatever.  Played with energy and passion and just had a different rhythm than everyone else.  Great competitor.

Who am I?

A series of statements will be presented about a mystery player.  Try to answer in as few clues as possible.

0-1 Guesses: You are an NBA Savant
2-4 Guesses: Experts consider you an expert
5-7 Guesses: You know more about the NBA than the other 99%

1. I began my career overseas but still played 15 NBA Seasons, for 6 different teams
2. I was once in a trade involving Brad Miller and in another trade involving Vince Carter
3. I merited consideration for 6th man of the year by my sophomore season.
4. I once won the Most Improved Player award.
5. I played two different stints for the Orlando Magic
6. I am currently the president of the Turkish Basketball Federation.
7. My last name rhymes with the full name of the coach of the Cavaliers

The 4 point shot
« Reply #11 on: October 20, 2018, 09:36:21 PM »

Any shot taken from behind the half-court line as the time expires in any of the first three quarters of the game.

Don't want it to mess with end-game strategy. Or strategy in general. It should just be a lucky shot.

No, it's good to keep this thread going.
I was on vacation.
And when I got back I skimmed your question too quickly and didn't realize you were looking for one person and not 9 different players.  And your answer was there already anyway.

Hedo was a pretty solid player.  Could do a lot (except defend).
I had a Turkish youth basketball team assure me that Ilyasova was the real deal and would be a better NBA pro than Turkoglu.
Ilya had skills, but not the drive or tenacity.  Hedo had a better career.  More skilled more consistent, played harder.

Otherwise I really should have taken 22 W's and filled in the empty slot.  Go for the win not the tie.  But I was just back and catching up on things quickly.
