What a damn shame. I'm not a boxing expert, but his battle with Hearns was as jaw dropping and jaw breaking a war as there ever was in a ring.

An astounding 8-minute fight.

I watched it again last night-the 1st round was awesome

I'm still pissed Sugar Ray ran away from him to "win" a title.

RIP Marvelous Marvin

I'm still pissed Sugar Ray ran away from him to "win" take awaya title.

He was the champion. Prior to that fight, you really had to beat the champ. Sugar Ray didn't. He was just the preferred by the media candidate in the fight.

I pretty much quit watching any and all boxing after that "decision".

In the annals of boxing, THAT FIGHT DECISION is not one I'd choose to be miffed about.

I just googled " most controversial decisions in boxing history"

and this was the first article

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1611096-the-ten-most-controversial-decisions-in-boxing-history

Hagler-Leonard was ranked most controversial.

this was the second article

https://www.gamblingsites.net/blog/most-controversial-boxing-decisions-ever/

Hagler-Leonard #1

lotta folks think that decision was controversial

I saw that fight at a bar in Cleveland, one where the people there had no particular affinity for Hagler or Leonard, and I thought there was going to be a riot after the decision was announced.

Maybe your annals retention is different than others.

In his words:

Schilling said he’s leaving the Boston area, where his anti-transgender comments and other controversial remarks have cost him fans even though he helped the Red Sox win World Series titles in 2004 and 2007.

“Outside of our circle of friends, it hasn’t been a real pleasant experience in Boston,’’ Schilling told USA TODAY Sports. “So we’re just trying to find a place to live out our lives with happiness with people that are nice, and Tennessee is it

That should be, "people who are nice", Herr Schilling.

Schill's FAR right - the entire Northeast is too sophisticated for the small-minded.

FIFY.

How about bringing TRIVIA back in its place?
