It's every 30 seconds...a home invasion every 30 seconds.
"Home invasion" includes burglaries.

That’s when the criminals break in to your domicile when you aren’t home and take all your guns, right?

Or is that when they break into your home and set up an ambush for you when you get back using whatever guns you have  at home that you don’t always tote around with you everywhere you go?

Except that those self-same republicans also concluded that they still need to put in the same GOP-pushed restrictions to make the public feel better in reaction to the lies.

Yeah... no.

Despite that the report rebukes the conspiracy theories, the investigation found “glaring issues that must be addressed” in state election law, and the party is still pushing forward with a package of 39 controversial voting restrictions that it plans to ram through using a constitutional loophole that can bypass the veto of the Democratic governor, Gretchen Whitmer.

The Democratic state senator Jeff Irwin, who serves on the oversight committee, was the lone vote against the report. He noted that Michigan has paper ballots that confirm the results and praised Republican committee members for being “willing to stand and say that Michigan has free and fair elections”, but he added that the recommendations for new restrictions are unnecessary.

“They are responding to their GOP constituency more than they are offering good policy ideas,” he said.

The guns at home would be locked in a hidden safe...in the secret room behind the wall unit...but more likely in a panic room...love those panic rooms [saved 'Jodie Foster' in the movie Panic Room.]
The hand guns I would have on my person.

Can home invaders simply kick down your doors and walk right into your home/apartment?

Home Invasions on the Rise in Atlanta

Security has long been considered one of our basic needs for survival. If you should feel safe anywhere, it ought to be in your own home. Sadly, this basic right is coming under attack in the greater Atlanta area where violent home invasions are on the rise.

In the recent slew of break-ins, perpetrators have committed burglary, rape, assault and even murder against innocent people who happened to be at home at the time.

Becoming the victim of an assault in your own home is very unsettling to imagine. What is further startling about this home invasion trend is that many property owners are not taking the necessary precautions to prevent them.

Consider the case of one victim, Ms. Zaquavia Kingsberry. The 33-year-old mother of two was a staffer at a woman’s shelter. She was simply taking a nap one afternoon when criminals kicked down the door and shot her twice, killing her. The crime scene? A third floor unit in an apartment complex with gated parking, specialized keys and security cameras, located in affluent Buckhead.

A security audit after the murder showed a number of security lapses on the property. There was a fence with an opening, an outside door that failed to lock and a portion of the parking garage that could easily be climbed over.

#####

Zaquavia, by all accounts a lovely lady who helped everyone...murdered by home-invading armed thugs....shot dead in her sleep.
The bad people lurk in the shadows, waiting to pounce...the moment you get security-careless. [not much you can do though if you're renting.]
Guns would've done her no good, she was asleep.
No one is safe, ...maybe bullet-proof portable panic rooms with two way small windows could be invented that could be erected in any apartment etc, giving the resident time to get their guns and shoot the thugs thru the small holes available by sliding a piece of the wall from the inside.

If the guns are locked in a hidden safe, etc., they're going to be oh so helpful in the case of home invasion.

And... you seem to think that every American is filthy rich.

We're not.

Panic room! Hah! You are a panic.

https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/miami-florida-building-collapse-06-24-21/index.html

While only one person has died so far, given that it collapsed at 2am and the way the building fell, the likelihood of a lot more fatalities seems incredibly high.

Nothing I have read or heard suggests that they have the foggiest what happened. That means that besides emptying the rest of this building, they are going to have to check every other building this construction crew put up and likely that the architectural team designed, before they even know what they are checking for.

And if one theory is right and "all" that happened was a sinkhole developed under it without their knowing it, then figuring out where else in FL this could happen is going to be very difficult - but likely to happen again, with the ongoing combination of climate change and high population drinking the water.

A Palestinian activist died during a "brutal beating and arrest."

It was the Palestinian Authority's troops doing the "arrest" in Hebron. The crime? Criticizing the PA. Forming a competing political party (for the election last month that Abbas cancelled). The report says the PA sent in 20 soldiers at 3:30am.

Somehow, I suspect the beating was not required to subdue Banat, a 45 year old carpenter.

Slippery slope to killing fields,  gulags,  reeducation camps,  composting the elderly,  all citizens forced to pull plows, haul water,  and move cargo with pushcarts,  and no cheeseburgers ever again as wild cows wander the streets trampling your children to death.  Hummus for breakfasr.   That's the secret agenda of the Left.

This is so enraging.

Not that our history is better - we have committed so many atrocities that we can't even keep track of them all.

With nearly 97 per cent of votes counted, Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, had a commanding lead with just almost 31.7 per cent of the vote, according to the Board of Elections.

Wiley, a former counsel to de Blasio who has promised to strip $1bn from the police department budget, stood at 22.2 per cent, while Garcia, the former head of the sanitation department, had 19.5 per cent.

Yang, an affable outsider who made his name with a long-shot bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, had enjoyed frontrunner status for months. But first-round results showed him stuck at just 11.7 per cent, confirming a drop off in his campaign as election day neared.

So they had an election in New York for Mayor.
It turned out to be about crime.

More to come.
