Governor Noem has accused her fellow GOP governors who took measures to try to diminish the spread of COVID in their states of lacking grit.

Her foolishness also manifested recently in the high school sports debate about letting former cis males play on girls teams.   No shame from her when it was pointed out she couldn't find a single actual case in SD of some trans brute bogey-girl annihilating the opposing team.   I think she had to go all the way to Connecticut, where they found two cases of trans female track stars who won a lot of trophies and then got sued.   Two cases in the entire US.   And they were non contact sports.

Legislators in more than 20 states have introduced bills this year that would ban transgender girls from competing on girls’ sports teams in public high schools. Yet in almost every case, sponsors cannot cite a single instance in their own state or region where such participation has caused problems.

The Associated Press reached out to two dozen state lawmakers sponsoring such measures around the country as well as the conservative groups supporting them and found only a few times it’s been an issue among the hundreds of thousands of American teenagers who play high school sports...

And we don't ban unusually tall girls from HS basketball teams,  even though that might give them a competitive advantage.   We don't ban cis-females who happen to have unusually high aerobic capacity,  either,  from track events.   But suddenly there's a big concern....

He wants to pretend that nobody on his side of the discussion has ever suggested that Sharpton only cares about Black kids.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/351932/americans-life-ratings-reach-record-high.aspx

Oh, those polls...

Quote
A new Gallup poll finds that 59.2% of Americans say they're thriving. Additionally, 73% of Americans said they experienced enjoyment for a lot of the previous day.

The former is the highest rating Gallup has ever recorded on the measure dating back to when it was first taken more than 13 years ago. The latter is the highest since the coronavirus pandemic began early last year.

There are a couple other polls linked in this article and discussed in the video clip:
https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/11/politics/american-optimism-analysis/index.html

I think the fact that Dems and GOP folks answered the same percentage having worsening mental health in the last week - and only 8%, at that - is amazing.

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/07/12/lawyers-pro-trump-suit-499252

Next step in the Michigan/Detroit request for sanctions on the Trump attorneys for their frivolous suit of lies, misrepresentations, etc.

Plus a couple other stories mentioned and linked near the end. I had missed both that the GA Bar filed a 1600+ page brief against Atty. Wood! And Colorado is going after the Trumpian lawyers for their frivolous lawsuit against Dominion Voting Machines.

This is how we block this kind of garbage in the future. Make it clear that destructive bullshit suits will not be tolerated.

For the 2nd time in 3 elections, the Alaska GOP has endorsed somebody other than their incumbent senator for the seat.

Last time they did that, in 2010, Lisa Murkowski won anyway.

Can she do it again and when is she going to throw them under the bus the way they have her?!

Shhhhh.....

Kid, how do you feel about their cheering missing the vaccination goal?!

Do you sincerely believe it is a good thing to have missed it? Do you think the current path for those unvaccinated is a good one?!

Sure.

President Joe Biden

Public Official    ·

We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom and relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic and from the decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime. The Cuban people are bravely asserting fundamental and universal rights. Those rights, including the right of peaceful protest and the right to freely determine their own future, must be respected. The United States calls on the Cuban regime to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves.

------------

President George W. Bush wanted to work hard here in the Western Hemisphere, before 9/11 happened and all of the focus went to the Middle East. Imagine if we would have spent all of that money that was spent in the Middle East here in the Western Hemisphere instead. It seems like everything that we do in the Middle East is just a waste of time, but here in the Western Hemisphere we can get big rewards. We can let Saudi Arabia worry about the Middle East, they can take care of their own people, and we can focus on our own people here in the Western Hemisphere. ( As far as Israel goes, they just built a wall around Israel and the Jews try to keep the Muslims out. Israel can take care of themselves. We can learn from the Jews, we have no duty to take care of the Muslims, we need to help our own people instead. ) And maybe if Saudi Arabia felt some duty to take care of their homeless and their needy in the Middle East, and to work to improve human rights, and women's rights, then things would get better there for them, let them help their own people. Meanwhile, we can help our good Christian allies here in the Western Hemisphere to live better lives.

On the issue of Cuba, when Cuba gets their freedom then we need to embrace and help the people of Cuba, we can expand trade, and we can increase tourism, etc, and we can work to help Cuba.

It is time to focus on helping our good Christian allies who are living in poverty here in the Western Hemisphere. We need to focus on helping people from the top of Alaska to the bottom of Chile.

We need to help all people, but especially we need to help our good Christian allies.

And the battle in the Western Hemisphere is a war against poverty, the war will be fought by school teachers who are teaching the children, and by business-people who are creating jobs and honest opportunities, and by the World Bank and other banks which can give business loans to the people.

In Colombia, the President attended Harvard, and we help to support education for the children, and we have worked to expand honest trade, and things have improved in Colombia. We need to work hard all over the Western Hemisphere as we have in Colombia and we can have success.

Salute,

Tony V.
