So President Mediocrity ditched his campaign pledge to get public school kids back in the classroom.
Those teacher union campaign funds always speak louder than the students who will fall further behind, isolated at home.

The House managers nailed him to the wall.

Whatever decision reached is almost immaterial.

Yes

Dog and pony for future effect.

But DO get on senators from the other side for not paying attention.

We need to be smart, and we need to work together as a team, and we need to focus on our strengths, and we need to advertise, etc.

We here in the City of Anaheim work together as a team, in many ways, but on one issue exemplifying teamwork for the betterment of all, is that the City of Anaheim spends City money to advertise Anaheim to the world as a tourist destination. We have Disneyland, and we have the Angels, and the Ducks, and we have great restaurants, we have a great Convention Center, etc, and Anaheim is a great tourist destination. So, the City of Anaheim spends City money to advertise Anaheim to the world as a tourist destination, and 160,000 jobs are created by tourism in Orange County (before the corona crisis). Those jobs just did not happen out of thin air, people worked together as a team and created those jobs. And once your cup is over-flowing then you can help the homeless people, and you can build museums, and you can have theatre, and Opera, etc.

And this idea can be expanded on, the State of California could advertise California products to the Chinese.

Cities, states, countries, etc, can build on their strengths and they can advertise those strengths to create jobs and to help everyone, you can help the homeless, you can feed the children, you can do it all. Team work makes the dream work.

Early to bed, early to rise, work together as a team, and advertise.

Salute,

I’m glad Joe is putting together a capable government to take care of you in your dotage. It’s a nice change from the clusterfuck of the last four years of shitstain misadministration that is still keeping our kids out of school in the aftermath of its bottomless mistakes.

Thats a terrible self-indictment.

i bet you thought you said something deep and meaningful here. However, it's not even a sentence.

Try again, but first put your fear and loathing aside, so you can write a complete thought.

Gateway drug.
Hasn't drug prohibition been a huge absolute failure, and an enormous infringement upon freedom?

Oyyyy...wow.

Wire taps, drug raids, vehicle and home searches, incarceration, criminal records, racial disparity, almost everyone a potential criminal suspect.  Drug prohibition has resulted in greatly increased policing, wildly expanded police powers, jailing -- all greatly reducing freedom.
Is this even debatable?

I never understood the rationale for policing what people put into their own bodies.
So you're worried that people will harm themselves by taking hard drugs and become unproductive members of society.  So you make sure that they are harmed and unproductive by jailing them for using/selling drugs?  And if you don't want drug users on welfare, jail is just harsh punitive welfare (costly too).

Alcohol ruins plenty of lives, while most take alcohol and manage to live their lives just fine.  Same with marijuana and even cocaine.  Plenty of recreational users who hold down jobs and have families and function just fine.

Not even to get into other major failures of the Drug War such as corruption of police and even whole nations, enormous sums of money funneled to violent gangs, all while the supply and demand are never reduced.

= Enormous Failure.

So you want to continue to criminalize fairly harmless marijuana in order to prop up a horrendous and failed policy.  Idiocy added upon Stupidity ...

Alcohol was prohibited not too long ago.  How did that work out?  Now apply the same thinking to Marijuana.

About the “ American idiocy upon stupidity”.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/17/asia/china-us-marijuana-smuggling-intl-hnk/index.html

China severely punishes those caught smuggling or trafficking drugs, including foreigners. Anyone found with more than 50 grams (1.76 ounces) of a controlled substance can face the death penalty.
China has stepped up its efforts to combat the sale of illegal drugs in recent years. Authorities in major cities, including Beijing, have been known to carry out spot drug tests at bars and nightclubs in a bid to clamp down on recreational drug use.
The move puts it at odds with North America, where cannabis has increasing levels of social acceptance.

Not a gateway drug.

Where pot is seen as a gateway drug, the access point to it is first tobacco use.

The whole notion of "gateway drugs" needs to be done away with.  Drugs engage with receptors in our brains the same way as food does.  So either drugs are food or food is a gateway drug
