But should I be hung for laughing at a red-neck joke, or a dumb-blonde joke? Or dating a dumb blonde?

Is there a statute of limitations for behavior decades ago?

I think that's the woke line most reasonable people start to balk at.

I think the counterpoint is that woke,  in the main,  is not some humorless lockstep of overreaction.   I think that's why misusing the term is perceived as stereotyping.   Sometimes woke does just mean aware,  and knowledgeable of why some minorities joined the footrace carrying twenty pound weights in each hand.   It simply means understanding that all effects of discrimination don't vanish when,  on the sixth lap,  they're permitted to drop the weights.

But how is that different than "sometimes conservative just means--------" or "sometimes liberal just means------"?

The problemthat many of us have with the woke is the proselytizing nature of the constituency.
The issue YOU have with woke is people pointing out your racism, Forrest.

The zealotry that is used to critique the use of pronouns or the reading "Lolita" or watching a Woody Allen movie is entirely off-putting, heavy-handed, and demonstrates the exact same intolerance that the wokies preach others represent. Such reactionary behavior[ ] brings to mind the Cultural Revolution of China in the 1960's,[/b] and that is something that I find leads to book-burning and worse.
I will point you to your thumbs up regarding banks's Hitler post, hypocrite. Let me know when you get sent to a re-education camp. I'll stand up for you then. Otherwise you are just bitching about having your conduct pointed out, and your being held accountable for it.

No. You just call anyone who disagrees with you a racist, Kuntzler.

If the shoe fits...

...then it's your shoe.

4-Take this vac and shove it

TX Republicans encourage vaccination

They should probably encourage harder as eyeballing the vac rate, it seems the Lone Star state is lagging behind other states.

But why quibble about the citizens of Gilead on the Rio Grande's willingness to bare right arms to fight covid

So lets go with

4-Take this mask and shove it

The Star Spangled Banner Protection Act goes into effect today in Texas

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will face substantial fines if he refuses to have the national anthem played at Dallas home games.
Canceled!

How cool would it be if one band starts playing the Marseillaise while the other is playing the anthem?   Casablanca stills up on the jumbotron.

According to Axios Joe Manchin just cut the Biden Spending plan from 3.5 Trillion to no more than 1.5 Trillion.
Tough to keep track of just which Joe is in charge.

Edit: I put the missing quote in. Josh

Feel like an old lib

heh

Quote
American two-party system is broken. Democrats and Republicans are locked in an increasingly destructive partisan struggle that has produced gridlock and stagnation on too many critical issues -- most urgently, the pandemic and climate change.

TX Republicans encourage vaccination

Some of them.

But... this does not encourage vaccines:

We all understand how lawyers weaponize language to lie and distort reality, but your personal smear campaign has gotten old.

The notion of Piggy complaining of anybody else's engaging in a personal smear campaign is hilarious.

How many posts did he make about Banks? What was his recent posting spree allegedly about my teaching?

And how many distortions of the truth has he engaged in, in his effort to dispel the observations of his racist postings?!

Yank's disagreed with a ton of us about a ton of issues without calling us racists. He disagrees with you, Ham, about your racist postings. If you disagreed with him about other things, "racist" would neither be his choice of terminology nor a valid observation.

But since you cannot even accept that you have privilege for being white (noting that having privilege is not a matter of being racist or being at fault, just an observation of conditions in the USA), it is hardly surprising that you cannot acknowledge your racism-laden proclivities.

Edit: Having that weird posting problem again. Won't let me quote a passage from the article.

Which one? (first and last words will do)

Another outright SEWER.

Yep.   The statue represented a fine upstanding man,  a NICE man,  whose only moral lapse was defending a system that kidnapped youths from their families,  shackled them in festering below-deck holds,  sardine-style, tossing the corpses of the 10-40% who died there into the ocean,  and transporting them to lives of permanent bondage in  America and the Caribbean where they were beaten,  made to breed like livestock, tortured or even murdered without trial for an array of petty infractions,  and forced to work in cane,  cotton, or other crop fields all hours of daylight until they became prematurely aged by 40 and either died or were moved to livery or housekeeping.   And then,  all he did was lead hundreds of thousands of men to their grisly deaths in order to keep defending this system.   Pfft, doesn't being nice to your horse matter anymore?

Oh, that wasn't his only moral lapse.

He also engaged in the practice of keeping them in permanent bondage, beating them, breeding them like livestock, etc.
