Bambu,
You are welcome. I hope that you never need the advice.
My Brother married Roy Rogers and Dale Evans' Granddaughter, and one year I got to spend Christmas Day with Roy at his Daughter's house, and Roy told me stories all day, and Roy gave me some advice. Roy told me that you have to go through the hard times, so that you can appreciate the good times. So, because I was homeless and hungry, I appreciate having food and shelter, and I am grateful for the little things like a great sandwich.
Appreciate the little things. And be grateful that you have food and shelter. Like that song, "It is just another day for you and me in paradise."
Here is an example...
I have a neighbor who stands out on his stairway every night bitching about how bad the world is, and about what a ghetto this is, and about how bad people are, and all he does is complain. He has a hot wife, he has a cool child, he has the same apartment as all of the rest of us here, and all he does is complain. For a lot of people his situation would be paradise, a good wife, a cool child, and a nice pad, with food to eat. He should be happy. And we have Disneyland 5 miles away, this is a great town, he should be happy.
I have seen people who were living in the same situation, and for some people it was paradise, and for other people it was hell on earth, and it was all about how you chose to perceive the situation and whether or not you were grateful.
Some other advice, is to save some money for emergencies.
Anyhow, my advice is to be grateful, and to enjoy life, and to cook the gourmet meals, and to buy the good kind of coffee, be happy that you have a home and that you have food, etc. And always let your wife know that you love her and be grateful to have her, treat her well. Enjoy your home with your wife.
And if life gets hard, then you can still survive, you will make it, then after the hard time there will be good times again. Peaks and valleys. You can save and invest wisely so that the valleys are not as bad.
Salute,
Tony V.
