Hmmm.
Josh does not explain what the other factors were that contributed to the lack of ICU beds.
Wonder why.

This was a different kind of story, as was the Holloway case, which lives on today.

Yes.

She's white, pretty, and popular.

Pretty dismissive.

What is untrue?

bambu  makes a good argument as why this particular MWWS has gained such traction.

Del Rio: Anger as border boss defends using whips in round-up of Haitian migrants:

That is not what the story says.

The vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, Art Del Cueto, has however defended the Border Patrol agents for trying to control the flow of migrants into Texas.
He told Fox News on Tuesday that agents were not whipping anyone and are  not assigned whips, and referred to the horse reins as a form of protection for the agents, horses and Haitians.
What they do is a training technique that has been shown to them to make sure that no one takes over their horse, Mr Del Cueto told Fox.
It was to protect the horse, to protect the rider, and to protect the individual that was trying to cause chaos and knock down that rider from that horse.
Mr Del Cueto went on to allege that agents twirl the horse reins to ensure everything was done correctly, and that concerns about Border Patrol agents in Del Rio were falsified.
The union vice president also accused the Biden administration of failing to adequately respond to the crisis, after Biden administration figures appeared to hit out at images of migrants threatened with whips.

Josh has no credibility on anything he posts.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/23/weather/lake-powell-power-generation-outlook/index.html

Lake Powell could be too low to generate electricity as soon as next year, though it's only a 3% chance, That percentage rises to 33% for 2023, which is way too high for comfort. Lake Powell currently puts through enough hydroelectricity to meet the needs of 25 million people.

That's a lot of power to find a replacement for - but the water level is already the lowest it's been since its filling and the projections are alarming to people who think ahead.

DeSantis said the new policy recognizes that quarantining healthy students is "incredibly damaging" for students' educational advancement and disruptive for families.

I don't understand the zeal either way.   If someone age 20 is being a jerk.about how they address someone,  does this call for institutional response?   Didn't people use to work out interpersonal conflicts without this much Sturm und Drang?  This is where I can join with neither the left or the right.   Whatever happened to shrugging off petty insults and being the bigger person?

Or if Josephine still retains large man-hands,  give her pronoun-tormentor a fat lip.   That could be part of an education.

Nothing wrong with using antivirals as prophylaxis until vaccines become available in a developing nation.   As long as people realize its protective effect is lesser than immunization.

I think it is a bullying issue.

Their boss admits whip use.
That is a lie.

I know a bit about riding horses.  Pretty sure they were swinging their lariats to fend off grabbing on.   I doubt very much border agents are given whips.   But other actions,  while not so bad as whipping,  were crossing the line.

Life science faculty.  They might know something about viral transmission.  Good for them.

"Scientists are trained to discover and follow the facts, so I believe that we cannot maintain our integrity or our credibility if we stand by silently while bad public health policies are damaging the UGA community," Bennetzen told CNN.

Could've been bullying.  Depends on how it's done,  what else goes with it.   If someone pronouns you just to annoy you,  that's one thing.   But yes,  it could escalate beyond just being a nuisance.

The western USA is fortunate in having plenty of windy places,  and sunny ones,  too.   Hopefully not too many manufacturing bottlenecks keep them from a construction boom in green energy.
