The dramatic shift of the legal landscape in Florida has left Democrats and abortion rights advocates pessimistic that the longstanding legal protections will withstand this challenge for long.

Florida judge rules that their 15 week limit to abortion violates the state's constitution's privacy rule.

It seems the judge was not being paid by the federalist conspiracy to misread the law.

We can have more judges like that in this country if we clear some bad apples from the bench.

The Court is now run by right wing judicial activists with no respect for past established doctrine that contradicts their politics.

"Educators" unclear on the concept:

https://www.texastribune.org/2022/06/30/texas-slavery-involuntary-relocation

A work group, assembled by the Texas Education Agency, has proposed replacing "slavery" with "involuntary relocation" in the 2nd grade curriculum.

The Texas Board of Education, to whom these suggestions are made, in the name of eliminating things that make students uncomfortable in the classroom, sent it back to the work group, suggesting that they reexamine their language, especially that.

Texas AG Ken Paxton says he would defend Texas' anti-sodomy law if SCOTUS decided to revisit the issue.

Defending state lawmakers

Imagine that.

Such a trend wouldn't bode well for you and your poodle.

GOP member desperately tries to spin story.

It was the Assistant Chief of Staff, a Secret Service member on temporary leave to serve the President.

You are so puerile.

Re SCOTUS -The court is tossing out an understanding long established between Congress and agencies that receive broad guidelines from Congress.  This is not the normal function of SCOTUS.
From CJ Roberts majority opinion

But the only question before the Court is more narrow: whether the best system of emission reduction identified by EPA in the Clean Power Plan was within the authority granted to the Agency in Section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act.

The answer(6-3] is no.
Congress needs to do its job. Not hide behind nameless bureaucrats.

Considering roughly half of the Congress does not give a shit about... anything. The nihilistic death cult called the GOP would be happy to run a Fourh Reich.

Yeah.

She is the right hand to Chief of Staff for the President of the United States of America... and no one knows her.

It is clear why Texans would want to secede from the USA.

It would give them a chance to brandish all their shiny guns for a minute and then after that they would have federal troops running their government, hospitals, schools, and energy grid, all tasks Texans realize they cannot handle by themselves.

It is a back door way to try and raise their status to that of Puerto Rico or DC accompanied by an improvement in living standards.
