Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, a former chair of the House Republican Conference, told a reporter last month that Republicans in the chamber wouldn't put forward a national abortion ban "before the election," before adding, "Well, yeah" when asked if they would if they won the House in 2022.

So much for blowWard's assurances that abortion would be left to the states.
guessed you missed SCOTUS
Try to keep up.

Guess you continue to fail to admit what everybody knows, which is that this SCOTUS has no logical bounds on its decisions and therefore if Congress managed to pass a national restriction on abortion they would rubber stamp it, over Roberts' dead body.

Biden needs to make an emergency trip to China.

We need to be allies with China, and teach them that all people are created equal, and we can work together with the UN on mutual projects.

And Right now China can help on the issue of Ukraine, and the food insecurity crisis for the poor nations, and they can help with solving the problems with the rising inflation and empty store shelves in poor nations. We need to work together as a team with China on issues that we agree on, and build a relationship on the foundation of mutual benefits instead of on our differences.

Salute,

Tony V.

She actually said that today.

Never mind your lying eyes. Ward is being greeted as a liberator.

In Ward's case, he was part of the study that established that most people are not swayed by evidence.

Republicans have become more concerned with conveying parental rights to rapists than the health or wellbeing of any mother. I do not think that is a winning argument anywhere outside of Mississippi or Alabama. It will not get them much more support than they get from constantly trying to reverse the outcome of the 2020 election. That is who they are now and a growing majority know we are better off the less power we allow to rest in the hands of any republican.

Sinema needs to take a breather from blowing corporate fat cats and general partners of private equity, venture capital and hedge funds.

The deficit reduction measures have already been massively whittled down.

This blogger gives a lot of thought to how arms get twisted and deals get cut behind the scenes.  Might bookmark.

I liked the Charlie X / chess with Spock analogy.

Dr McCoy did a good job reconnecting Spock's brain.

Three years ago today:

Quote
In less than a minute, 9 were dead and 27 more injured.

Having a "good man with a gun" is not enough, even if they're competent.

Sure, it would have been worse had the shooter not himself been shot.

But it took THIRTY-TWO seconds to fire at least 40 rounds.

100 round magazines have to go, at a minimum.\
