Not looking good for the hostages Hamas took, Hamas is threatening to execute them.

Israel should tell Hamas that if it executes any hostages Israel will never resupply Gaza with electricity, fuel, food, and water.

On my first reading, I was struck by the irony of a couple lines in that famous letter.

His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.

Israel reports that Hamas "went back to the stone age" and avoided all electronic communication that could be intercepted by Israel.
Israel removed from Gaza all its 'on the ground' intelligence gatherers and just relied on electronic intelligence gathering....reportedly.
