I am struck by the fact that none of the GOP presidents post-Kennedy have had a poet read at their inauguration. Johnson didn't and neither did Carter, though he had a poet that evening. But Clinton and Obama did for each of theirs and now Biden at his.

The poems, themselves, are quite something.

They are, and today's was.  Except for pronouncing "blunder" as "blender," which also showed up on CC as "blender."  No harm done to a fine poem, and I would be a bit nervous, too. 

Overall good inaug, with a sense of responsible and compassionate leadership being communicated well.  I liked that it was windy....blowing out all the old stale air and rank odor of corruption.
