The folks on the left are all over Biden for the far too conservative approach he is taking, while the folks on the right are already on him for being radical.

I am pretty sure that is the definition of moderate in America (even if in most of the world, it would still be well right of center).

I have not been this overjoyed since the birth of my twin daughters. Our beloved southern neighbour, and the world itself, can exhale and cancel all online orders for fallout shelters. If the last four years felt like a wrecking ball to our hearts and minds, Wednesday’s inauguration was a balm for the soul. It felt like renewal.

At 11:48 a.m., after the new leader of the free world was sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, the CNN chyron read: “Joseph R. Biden Inaugurated As 46th President.”

It could have read: “America survived. America is back.”

You could feel it as President Joe Biden began delivering his inaugural address: the resting heart rate of American politics returning to something resembling normal.

For the past four years, Donald Trump kept America - and the world - in a state of constant anxiety. At any moment of the day or night, you could expect a tweet threatening war against North Korea, announcing new tariffs on Chinese goods or falsely declaring himself the winner of the presidential election.

Democrat Joe Biden was sworn in as president of the United States, vowing to end the 'uncivil war' in a deeply divided country.

For his most loyal supporters, Trump’s chaotic style was an exhilarating departure from presidential norms; for everyone else, it was simply exhausting.

In his first speech after being sworn in as President, Biden gave the world permission to exhale. To feel a sense of relief, of calm and of hope. It was a stirring address but one designed to lower the temperature rather than to inflame passions.

Biden certainly isn't a radical, but the DEM party has shifted further leftward from its center/center-right positions of the last 20 years.

But the only people who thought Obama was a radical going in were the die-hard GOP and the folks not paying attention. He was as close to a WYSIWYG president compared to his campaigning as we're going to see, I think.

What America saw in the 2007 campaign was hardly what we got in Obama’s Presidency.
He quickly set a course toward European socialism with an abominable stimulus package and a takeover of our health  care system. In two years the government he was given to shape was turned on  by the voters.
He hardly got the message and plodded on with heavy-handed regulation of private businesses while steadily enlarging the size of the federal government. 
Since he did so with Joe Biden at his side demonstrates that Biden is presumed to be cut from the same radical left cloth. And his speech yesterday did nothing to change that opinion.
