Mitch goes belly up, an unfortunate posture for a famous turtle. Unified government commences thanks to the aggregate wisdom of the majority of voters.

Only 9,000 Arizona GOP members have left the party, so far, since the events of 1/6.

So far.

But with the AZ GOP's censure of Cindy McCain and Jeff Flake for being anti-Trump and of Gov. Ducey for enforcing his COVID-19 rules, I suspect there will be more talking like some of the now ex-Republicans do in this video.

It may be Kelli Ward's party, but it might not survive her "leadership."

Interesting list of which Fortune 500 companies are ceasing political donations to Electoral College objectors, which to all political candidates, which indefinitely and which for 6 months, etc. Many of them have not publicly taen a stance.

Chart is organized by how much they gave.

She is not alone. The Repo legislative majority has made investigating the election their top priority. The censure of Ducey had as much to do with his failure to try to overturn the election as the anger over closures. Well, and Ward's plan to run for Senate.

We have a pretty bizarre set of far right kooks in the Republican party, three of whom sit in Washington.

Others made blunders, like a Houston police officer, who denied he went into the Capitol, then agreed to let agents look at the pictures on his phone. Inside his deleted photos folder were pictures and videos, including selfies he took inside the building, authorities said.

Another man was wearing a court-ordered GPS monitor after a burglary conviction that tracked his every movement inside the Capitol building.

A retired firefighter from Long Island, New York, texted a video of himself in the Capitol rotunda to his girlfriend’s brother, saying he was “at the tip of the spear,” officials said. The brother happened to be a federal agent with the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service, who turned the video over to the FBI.

In another case, a man was on a flight leaving D.C. two days after the riot when he kept shouting “Trump 2020!” and was kicked off. An airport police officer saw the man get off the plane and the man was booked on another flight. Forty-five minutes later, the officer was watching a video on Instagram and recognized the man in a group of rioters. The man, who was wearing the same shirt as the day he stormed the Capitol, was arrested at the airport, authorities said.

Speaking of kooks....

Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 19th president of the United States on March 4, 2021.

Sovereign citizens believe that a law enacted in 1871 secretly turned the U.S. into a corporation and did away with the American government of the founding fathers. The group also believes that President Franklin D. Roosevelt sold U.S. citizens out in 1933 when he ended the gold standard and replaced it by offering citizens as collateral to a group of shadowy foreign investors.

Sovereigns use indecipherable legal filings based on arcane texts to separate themselves from the legal entities the government has supposedly created in their name in order to sell to investors.

There may be loonier non-alien-based conspiracy theorists out there than the Corporate United States folks, but not many and not much more nutty.

I've been watching their stuff for years now, shaking my head and being baffled by them.

iden’s immigration plan was an aggressive opening salvo embraced by the base, while Republicans, not surprisingly, gave it a cool reception. Some on the Hill privately questioned if Biden was simply checking a box to appease activists. Immigrant advocates, for their part, say they have no reason to believe — at this point — that Biden’s bill is ceremonial. But they warn that if substantial immigration reforms don’t reach his desk by the end of the year, Democrats and Biden would not only face an uproar from Dreamers and grassroots organizers — but the party could suffer politically as well. ---

But he would solidify his standing with moderates and Trump fleers?

As COVID-19 took a deadly toll among residents of Genesis Healthcare facilities, the financially troubled company gave CEO George Hager Jr. a $5.2 million "retention payment."

At the helm of the large U.S. nursing home chain during a pandemic that has killed more than 1,500 of its residents and threatens to push it into bankruptcy, Hager received the bonus in late October. He then resigned from the for-profit company, where he had served as chief executive for 17 years, less than three months later, earlier this month.

Maybe they should look into criminal charges or whether the fake retention payment was fraudulently designed to siphon money away from creditors, and/or whether it can be clawed back sinc ethe guy took a $5M retention bonus and then bailed.

But typical how the execs get golden parachutes and the actual workers just get pissed on (and they call it trickle down).

The filibuster is on solid ground for at least two more years(probably forever).
