Those are not government actions.  Those are expressions of first amendment rights.  Barton is right.  We have more freedom of expression.
You must not live in America.

The Dems should call as their first witness, Rand Paul. After all, you witnessed what you called "Chaos and anarchy" on January 6. You are personally familiar with being physically threatened with harm by a politically agitated mob, as you claimed happened to you in August of 2020. And you suffered 5 broken ribs in an attack at your home, too, didn't you?

Please describe the incidents of January 6 here at the Capitol. Where were you at that time the mob broke into the Capitol building? What did you do? Did you stay in the Senate Chamber, or did you flee? Why did you say on January 6,  that the "Chaos and anarchy" of that day were "wrong and un-American"? Should that "chaos and anarchy" that you rightfully labeled on January 6 be allowed to be inspired by a sitting President without any real consequence for having done so? Let us remind you, too, that you said this after previously saying that the election was "in many ways stolen"? So, the results of the election meant nothing to you in December, or but then they meant something again on January 6? If there was nothing to fear from the crowd on January 6, why did you not stay and greet the people who came into the capitol that day, and discuss things further with them?

And, Senator Paul, if an official can act against the Constitution of the United States that he's sworn to uphold, while still in office, as President Trump did on July 6, should he be able to do so without consequence, merely by running out the clock and then claim he's a citizen who should not be brought before Congress for inciting sedition?

Never thought I'd see Oregon as Arizona's main rival for GOP kookiness.

States fading from purple to blue put extra pressure on the overfunded psych wards that are their state republican organizations. This isn’t even the tip of the weird. Just wait.

---The NYPD said overall crime dropped to 95,552 reported incidents in 2020, “representing 681 fewer victims than last year and 11,668 fewer victims than in 2014, the first year of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration,” the release said.---

The Senate defeated a motion by Rand Paul to declare a pending impeachment trial unconstitutional.
But the vote was 55-45 with 45 republicans supporting the motion.
Paul said he knew the motion would fail but by forcing the roll call vote he hoped to send a clear message that the trial will be a “ clear waste of time”.
Bow many times has Rand Paul voted to repeal the ACA?

Red with one of his trademarked rebuttals.

Red giggles at insurrection and people denied access to healthcare.

In any case

You gotta admire Machiavellian Mitch. when he was Majority Leader he would not permit the trial on then President Trump to start in the the pre-inaugural period, but agreed to delay the start of the trial of the now ex-President to after he left office, to the week of Feb 8th. But today he and other Senate Repubs argued that trying an ex-President is unconstitutional.

Heads I win, tails you lose.

Sort of a giant manufactured loophole to end run accountability of Trump and accountability of how many repubs think insurrection and sedition are as least as democracy-threatening as fibbing about a blow job.

The Repubs lost 55-45, but really only 5 R's had the balls (actually 3, along with Collins and Murk) to join the Dems on this one.

But one wonders what the fuck will get the cowards of the Republican party to find a spine and stand up to the Trump and traitors who incited and led a deadly attempt to overthrow the legally elected US government.
