One year ago today, I posted about this:
"The Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering has built an online dashboard for tracking the worldwide spread of the #coronavirus outbreak. The map tracks coronavirus outbreak in near real-time."

Besides the obvious trends of coal use dropping with wind and solar booming, here's how I interpreted that chart:

- If wind and solar are 20% of electricity generation, and total renewables are 39%, then I assume hydro accounts for 19%.

- If coal is around 13% and fossil fuels total 37% or so, then natural gas accounts for 24%.

If renewables (38%) and fossil fuels (37%) combine for 75% of electricity, I assume nuclear power is the other 25%.  France relies heavily on nukes.

I'm not sure if all that is right, but that's what I gleaned from the chart.

Denmark gets 62% of its electricity from wind and solar. It is the leader in Europe in this regard.

Explosive new book claims the KGB began grooming 'young and vain' Donald Trump 40 years ago by saving him from financial ruin and turned him into a Russian asset
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9184687/How-Russia-began-grooming-Donald-Trump-40-years-ago-saving-financial-ruin-book-claims.html

No idea how true any of it is, but it would make sense of some things.

Bo,  thanks for taking the time to offer some China perspective.  I probably was baiting the conversation a bit.   My basic point was that China's  safety and security come with a high cost.   Wouldn't deny the same can be said of US.   But the overall surveillance situation, the Social Credit experiment,  SkyNet,  and totalitarian governance, is something that... well,  if Americans came round to that approach,  I would assume we had fundamentally changed.

Those are not government actions.  Those are expressions of first amendment rights.  Barton is right.  We have more freedom of expression.
You must not live in America.

Sing with me, Larry!
Psalm 5:5

After you finish kissing my ass you can go,fuck yourself.

The perfect rejoinder for a song praising the Lord. Maybe look up the Psalm, Larry. It wasn't directed TO you. It was supporting your observation regarding Red.

After you get further education, you can perhaps keep up with me.

Except it isn't unconstitutional to impeach a politician after they've left office.
Otherwise they could do any fucking illegal thing they want in the last month of their term.
There is no such loophole.

EXACTLY RIGHT.

At least to you.

Except to me and the Senate who voted in 1876, by a 37-29 margin, that Belknap was eligible to be impeached and tried even though he resigned from office.

RED doesn't do facts. Or support knowledge. He does support insurrection, though.

https://www.npr.org/2021/01/27/961014289/in-phone-call-biden-presses-putin-over-cyber-breach-navalny

In his first phone call with Vladimir Putin since taking office, President Biden pressed his Russian counterpart on the detention of a leading Kremlin-critic, the mass arrest of protesters, and Russia's suspected involvement in a massive cyber breach in the United States.

Still, the two leaders did agree to extend the U.S.-Russia arms control deal, New START, which is set to expire next Friday.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that Biden's "intention was also to make clear that the United States will act firmly in defense of our national interests in response to malign actions by Russia."

U.S. intelligence agencies have said the massive SolarWinds hack was likely committed by Russia; the Treasury Department sanctioned several Kremlin-aligned politicians and entities for their disinformation efforts during the 2020 campaign; and President Biden has asked the U.S. government to investigate reports that the Kremlin paid bounties to kill American troops in Afghanistan. Russian officials have called the allegations they paid bounties for American troops a hoax.

Moscow's report of the call focused on the need to normalize relations and to work together on the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to the New START deal.

Real Presidents stand up to Putin.

Couple of wins in there for Biden.

Put another in the W column for Team Biden: The Justice Department has ended the Trump era "zero tolerance" policy for immigration offenses that allowed the U.S. government to separate thousands of children from their parents.

Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson rescinded the policy Tuesday in a memo sent to federal prosecutors.

Wilkinson wrote that the policy "was inconsistent with the Department's longstanding principle that we exercise judgment and make individualized assessments in criminal cases. Today's action restores to prosecutors their traditional discretion to make charging decisions based on a careful review of the particular facts and circumstances of individual immigration cases."

Under the policy, adults who entered the U.S. from the Southern border were prosecuted for illegal entry. Children can't be imprisoned with parents and other family members, so young kids were taken into federal custody — resulting in more than 3,000 children being separated from their families.

Uno,  I think Larry's rejoinder is a general response to your unfortunate comment a few days ago regarding his recent loss.   As Ahnuld says in "Total Recall, "  consider that a divorce.

Try to bear in mind that,  though Josh deleted it,  it wasn't deleted from some members minds.
