This passage from the Bible could make for a great television show, just show a special team of people doing these things, it is their mission...

Psalm 82:3-4 New International Version (NIV)

3 Defend the weak and the fatherless;
    uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
4 Rescue the weak and the needy;
    deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

This could be the motto of a special team, and in each episode of the show they go out and help people.

Salute,

Tony V.

Leverage follows a five-person team: a thief, a grifter, a hacker, and a retrieval specialist, led by former insurance investigator Nathan Ford, who use their skills to carry out heists to fight corporate and governmental injustices inflicted on ordinary citizens.

Final episode date: December 25, 2012
First episode date: December 7, 2008

Good cast!

But my first thought was ‘The A-Team.’

I think public servants probably can find better things to do than removing Abraham Lincoln’s and George Washington’s names from schools.

If it’s not such a big deal why make it such a big deal? It isn’t like there’s a shortage of schools named for Washington and Lincoln.
It’s not me that’s making a big deal of it.

I think you are better than that response.

Queen Latifa.

Doesn't need a team, most of the time.

But I liked Leverage a lot. Akin to the International Monetary Fund, but working mostly in the US instead of overseas.

I liked Banacek more than I liked The A Team.

One of the guys from “Leverage” plays Jim Brown in the new “One Night in Miami.” Aldis Hodge. Excellent actor. Jim Brown is tough to play.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/30/us/new-york-vaccine-disparities/index.html

White New Yorkers took up Hispanic neighborhood's vaccine appointments.

Could and should have been avoided. But it should not have needed to be avoided.

"Please do not sign up if you are white", I suppose was the proper call.

People traveled from other parts of the state and city, essentially gaming the system and locking out actual Washington Heights residents.   Once you deal in facts,  and renounce glib innuendos, the nature of the wrongness becomes clear.   Latinos have more risk factors for the severe form of SARS-COVID 2, and both logic and basic decency would place them in line first.

Earth Two

I don't blame anyone who tried to get vaccinated.  The administrators fucked up.  Don't hate the playa.

Trump has lost 3 major members of his impeachment legal team. But don't worry! The trial is still days away!

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/01/30/trumps-impeachment-lawyer-leaves-team-464017

Anyone who gets close enough to give a cursory glance at the third party held discoverable material immediately walks the fuck away.

Tells you basically all you need to know.

He’s batshit crazy and guilty as hell.

I don't think its the discoverable material. I think it's the refusal to heed advice on the tack to take in approaching this event. They are unlikely to have been shown anything without an agreement in place.

When the choices of a defense lawyer are down to Alan Dershowitz, who is rich and has no worries about whether anyone hires him in the future, you know the client is radioactive waste.

Doesn't matter if his legal team is the ghosts of Abbot and Costello,  anyway.   It's going to be William Belknap all over again.   It's already obvious there's not 17 votes in the GOP coalition.  As someone recently said (maybe Jennifer Rubin in the Post?),  the Republican party, in any form resembling what it used to be,  is dead.

ETA -- it was Kathleen Parker,  in The Post.

If Trump chooses to represent himself in front of the Senate, I would not be so sure those 17 votes are out of reach. And I could see him doing that, if all the lawyers insist that he's taking the wrong tack.
