They used to report that 10,000 people died of starvation each year in America. I assume that includes a good amount of homeless persons, plus malnutrition related deaths. I always found that number rather shocking and unconscionable. 10,000 Americans dying from lack of food and nutrition per year, every year.
That figure dates back a few decades, likely more now that extreme capitalism and inequality has triumphed, not to mention population growth.
One person dying from starvation in America is one too many.
This is USA we're talking about, not Africa.
All that foreign aid given away to other countries, money given to the UN for climate change etc, while people are starving to death at home. Very bad situation.
Say $2billion pa to stop the starving to death...and about $125billion pa to stop the 34 million from going hungry.
..all including admin costs.
The "ruling elite/elite" sipping on champagne, while the "second class citizens" and "others" sip on hunger/misery and death.
Sounds a lot like the Titanic.
