Rep. Madison Cawthorn's former classmates said he would use his car to corner women with sexual advances in off-campus drives, according to a BuzzFeed News investigation.

Students said that Cawthorn, a 25-year-old Republican from North Carolina, was known for this behavior while at Patrick Henry College, a small Christian school in Virginia that the lawmaker briefly attended in the fall of 2016.

Two resident assistants said they would warn women in their dorm not to go for rides with Cawthorn in his white Dodge Challenger. Cawthorn reportedly referred to these rides as "fun drives."

"I got info from other RAs to warn the female student body not to go on joy rides with him because bad things happened on those joy rides," Giovanna Lastra, one of the former RAs, told BuzzFeed.

One woman, Caitlin Coulter, recalled going on a drive with Cawthorn in which he asked invasive questions about the purity ring she was wearing. After 20 minutes of refusing to answer his questions, his demeanor changed and he drove dangerously back to campus.

Others told BuzzFeed that Cawthorn was frequently aggressive or misogynistic and that he called one woman a "little blonde slutty American girl" in front of a table of her peers. He also allegedly asked other men about which "race of girls gives the best blowjobs."

Cuomo to be done in by the law he put in place?

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has been accused of sexual harassment by a second former aide. Charlotte Bennett, who worked as a senior briefer and executive assistant in Cuomo's administration in 2019 and 2020, told The New York Times that Cuomo harassed her in June 2020, asking her questions about her personal life, including whether she thought age gaps mattered in relationships and if she ever had sex with with older men. The 25-year-old Bennett said the governor never tried to touch her, but she "absolutely" felt he was making an entreaty to a sexual relationship, which made her "horribly uncomfortable and scared."

From the NY pamphlet (bold and underlined font are mine):

Is a single incident of inappropriate sexual
behavior enough to be sexual harassment
and can I file a complaint?

Yes. Harassment does not need to be
repeated for you to file a claim; a single
incident can be sufficient. Harassment also
does not need to be severe or pervasive in
order for the employer to be liable. Contact
the
New York State Division of Human Rights to
file a complaint.

NY Law seems unusually harsh. A single incident can have many meanings to all involved, and there's a 3 year statute of limitations.

 https://dhr.ny.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/sexual-harassment.pdf

So, you could possibly say only, "That's a pretty blouse on you, today?" And 3 years later end up in court.

That's hardly Harvey Weinstein behavior, and seems to be an overcorrection.
Not really how sexual harassment works.

Works? Or is interpreted as being?

Explain your POV, counselor.

Not in the eyes of the many in today's "me too" world.
He obviously hadn't been paying attention.
As soon as he mentioned "sexual" he was "gone".
Left himself wide open.
Left his defences wide open and in flew the missile...BOOM!
By even being in a bar alone men are branded "predators"
today.
Trouble is, many women genuinely seem to feel " horribly "
uncomfortable and scared" at the slightest hint of anything that could possibly be viewed as inappropriate by the you know who brigade.

Men should learn from this case and wise up.
They pay compliments to any woman anywhere who is not their wife at their own peril.
They have conversations with female work colleagues about anything other than "the work" at their own peril.

Shocking.
How did it work out in New York when its government made the decisions for seniors?

How did it work when MTG was allowed to believe things that weren't true?

LoL.   He is mentally ill.   Time for voters to bring the straitjacket.

He also tucks and rolls out of speeding Ubers in the middle of the night which supports both conclusions.

On top of all that, he’s an asshole and that might be his most prominent and defining feature.

Native American Indians need to work together as a team to help each other, as one tribe rises then they need to reach out a hand to other tribes to help to pull each other up.

Native American Indian teens are more than 2 times more likely to commit suicide than other teens.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/suicide-american-indian-reservation_b_821639

And the women are so depressed that they give their children up for adoption instead of raising them.

The San Manuel Native American Indian Tribe of San Bernardino, California, is wealthy from their casino, and as they rise they are helping other tribes. And the Seminole Tribe in Florida owns the Hard Rock Cafe, and they are helping other tribes. The Lakota Tribe has oil on their reservation land and they are rising from money from oil, and they are helping other tribes. The tribes all need to help each other.

I tried to get the San Manuel Tribe to get into the movie industry, but they were not interested. It would be good for the Native American Indians to have a voice and to make their own movies with full control over the movies that they make. Plus, you can make a lot of money in the entertainment industry. And the Blacks have their own channel, the Native American Indians can have their own channel too, if there can be Black Entertainment Television, then there can be television for the Native American Indians as well, and with the Latinos, and everyone else. And all of the issues for the Natives can be discussed on the Native American Indian channel, and it can all be written and produced by Native American Indians, etc.

Also of note, is that coffee drinking reduces suicide rates, we need to promote coffee drinking on Indian reservations, especially with teens.

The Native American Indians need to have hope, and a love of life, and a love of each other, and they are blessed to be born into tribes, the tribes need to help each other. Having a tribe is a blessing, not a curse. They need to help each other.

And for instance, the San Manuel Tribe produced the last Black Sabbath concert that I attended, and other tribes are producing concerts, and they are opening casinos, etc, and they all need to help each other as they rise.

They need to have optimism and love and happiness and hope.

Salute,

Tony V.

Nice Larry. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Promoting Coffee among Tribal teens seems a little far fetched.

Maybe get someone to find a coffee shop in Cal City as a long running field research. There may be more promise there. It’s an option if your willing to branch out from movie making, Tony.

I drink coffee all the time and suffer no depression.

Just walked past my tv to see Donald speaking at the convention...then receiving a standing ovation.
No 1 morning radio host relayed details of his speech...particularly the bit about, para: "hundreds of thousands, millions going to pour in over the Mexican border from now on".

Good news Larry. I’m starting to hear more and more of those stories. Maybe my June or July prediction for myself will prove a little pessimistic.

I have neither the time nor the inclination for any detailed.discussion on this, but in short for there to be actionable sexual harassment in the workplace you a nexus to a term and condition of work.  Paying a woman a compliment does not have that connection unless it makes the person subjectively uncomfortable AND it is pervasive enough that accepting the behavior becomes a term and condition of employment. One act can be sexual harassment: you only have to tell a woman directly or impliedly sleep with me or your fired once. Nice blouse once, alone, does not cut it.

Trump can pull only 55% from CPAC's red-meating starved rabid dogs.

Rush got 56%.

and Rush has been dead for a couple of weeks.
