Joe Biden’s radical plan to implement the largest tax hike in American history is a massive giveaway to China, and many other countries, that will send thousands of factories, millions of jobs, and trillions of dollars to these competitive Nations. The Biden plan will crush American workers and decimate U.S. manufacturing, while giving special tax privileges to outsourcers, foreign and giant multinational corporations.

Biden promised to “build back better”—but the country he is building up, in particular, is China and other large segments of the world. Under the Biden Administration, America is once again losing the economic war with China—and Biden’s ludicrous multi-trillion dollar tax hike is a strategy for total economic surrender. Sacrificing good paying American jobs is the last thing our citizens need as our country recovers from the effects of the Global Pandemic.

She can set Twitter afire and is the darling of the MSM
But
As for the job she was elected do she is a flop.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was among the least effective members of the last Congress according to a new survey from the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking — a joint project of Vanderbilt University and the University of Virginia.

AOC introduced a total of 21 bills which the center defined as “substantive” — but that is where the story ends. Her legislation received no action in committees, no floor votes, and none ever became law, according to the center, which takes its data from Congress.gov.

“She introduced a lot of bills, but she was not successful at having them receive any sort of action in committee or beyond committee and if they can’t get through committee they cannot pass the House,” Alan Wiseman, a Vanderbilt political scientist and co-director of the center, told The Post.

“It’s clear that she was trying to get her legislative agenda moving and engage with the lawmaking process,” Wiseman added “But she wasn’t as successful as some other members were — even among [other] freshmen — at getting people to pay attention to her legislation.”

When looking at the legislative effectiveness of all congressional Democrats, AOC was ranked 230th out of 240 Democrats. Among the 19 Dem lawmakers from New York state, she ranked dead last.

Red has another premature characterization. His twitchy mudslinging finger has him way off target again.

Over 60% of the whole country’s population has adopted the definition and perception of the right wing republican cabal she has been employing since the day she entered politics. That number is growing. She is proving instrumental in cleaning the criminality out of US politics. The legislative accomplishments will come in the decades to follow. Got to clear the shit (anyone Red has ever voted for) out of the barn first.

Happy Easter.

Yes not surprisingly best economic recent growth and recoveries were under Clinton and BHO. Most dangerous under the trickle downers. Spread that tax-money around.

For this who observe happy resurrection Sunday.

Fifty three years ago tonight Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was murdered in Memphis.

His daughter spoke about him this past January on the holiday celebrating his life:

”Please don’t act like everyone loved my father. He was assassinated. A 1967 poll reflected that he was one of the most hated men in America. Most hated. Many who quote him now and evoke him to deter justice today would likely hate, and may already hate, the authentic King. #MLK”

The "authentic King" would have been done in by #MeToo.

It’s a good season to invest your faith in the women. That’s true on both sides, assuming Cheney vanquishes Bohbert and Green.

The “authentic King” would be 92 years old and when it comes to laying pipe I would put him more in the category of Belafonte and Poitier as opposed to Cosby.

But I see you and J. Edgar Hoover were on the same ave length since you’re concerned with who he was fucking and you’ve also ‘counseled’ people to commit suicide.

Pure negative reactionary. Open the borders, stop big business everywhere, boycott Israel, close the coal mines and pipelines. The anti Donald Trump is just like him but at the other end of the spectrum. A full blown, self promoting narcissist. Uncle Joe is going to have to dump her.

---Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is critiquing President Biden's proposed infrastructure plan, a more than $2 trillion proposal that the progressive firebrand says does not go far enough in addressing America's needs.---

Have the depictions of MLK got the story right?

Would depend on the depiction,  wouldn't it?

(see?   anyone can play that idiotic trolling game)

Express a fucking opinion.   Offer a story,  anecdote,  article,  note on a napkin, poll,
footage,  interview...  something with which others can engage.   Get off your lazy ass and do some research,  and then offer your conclusions.  Stop posting disingenuous horseshit about how you're not here to discuss.  It's a political forum,  dimwit.   That's the whole fucking point.

2nd that.

I like Omar's position that boycotts are powerful - she offers S Africa as an example.   Sometimes you want to make an omelette, you'll have to break some eggs.   If some small businesses suffer some sting due to no all-star game,  they may be glad if it leads to some rectifying of the current legislative restrictions.   Small business owners are often busy -- easier mail voting and more drop-offs would help them vote.

A little context should be applied to Larry's constant reference to America's love affair with MLK Jr in 1967.

We had race riots in in the 1964-1967, in particular in NYC in 1964, LA (Watts-1965), Newark and Detroit in 1967.  As the most visible black leader and symbol for racial equality, and integration in a turbulent America MLK Jr. was clearly a target for a lot of anger and resentment from a lot of frightened white Americans. And Black Americans, who were also alarmed by the social changes taking place.

IIRC (from Larry's original polling data, which Larry forgot to post) that around 45-50% of African-Americans also had a negative view of MLK Jr.

BTW, in addition to fighting for racial equality MLK was also an early and vocal critic of the war in Vet Nam.

https://time.com/5042070/donald-trump-martin-luther-king-mlk/

A Harris Poll taken during King’s final year revealed that nearly three-quarters of the American people thought he was persona non grata, and almost 60% of his own people, black Americans, thought he was irrelevant.

In the last year of King’s life, he had fallen off from the ranks of the most-admired Americans. He was disinvited to the White House, forsaken by friends who had fortified him, abandoned by supporters who had sustained his work and witness, and dismissed by a media that had championed his cause.

King had a deep and abiding love for his own people, but many turned against him in the last year of his life. The scorn of being unwelcome to preach in black churches was particularly painful. King was being ridiculed by black elites like Roy Wilkins, Whitney Young, Adam Clayton Powell, Ralph Bunche and even Thurgood Marshall. And for everyday black folk, and for the youth in particular, King’s message of nonviolence was falling on deaf ears. They wanted Black Power.

Sometimes the truth is so subversive and unsettling that people can’t handle it in real time. The terrain of history is dotted with prophetic truthtellers who we came to appreciate much too late. King’s vehement opposition to the war in Vietnam cost him dearly. We now know that King wasn’t so much alone as he was early. And he was right. Indeed, the last year of King’s life is a cautionary tale about what happens to a society that ignores its truthtellers — on racism, poverty, militarism, patriarchy, environmental degradation, white supremacy

Context and facts matter.
