Not helpful by Rep. Waters, IMO.

There is a difference between acknowledgment of motivations for violent protest and urging folks to become more "confrontational."

No justice, no peace. Power accedes nothing without demand. Give me liberty or...

Ya know?

This is an old tv show rebooted for the umpteenth time and folks act as if they’ve never seen it before.

When you condemn the protest more so than the motivation for same it maintains status quo.

Responding to protests of police violence with more police violence is sort of counterproductive in my view.

You can't just choose to follow the laws you like, and then demand equal protection under the law.

Which is what has been done in almost all of these cases.

How’s the climate on Earth Two?

At the Chauvin trial closing arguments.

Defense attorney Eric Nelson focused heavily in his closing argument on George Floyd's health and drug use, claiming they were more responsible for Floyd's death than Chauvin placing his knee on Floyd's neck, as seen in now-infamous footage.

To which PBS News Hour reporter Yamiche Alcindor observed:

"This argument is in direct contradiction to the prosecution's case which says believe your eyes, Chauvin's knee killed Floyd."

Gee, no shit?  The opposing attorneys have opposing courtroom views?
What does it take to be a PBS Commentator, a driver’s license?

Not much better at CNN senior legal analyst Laura Coates tweeted:
Defense begins the closing by defining reasonable doubt, not with why Chauvin is innocent.

Seriously is this the state of Journalism today?
The old maxim about lawyers( told often for laughs) is
If the Facts are on your side pound the Facts
If not pound  the Law.

The Law says “ guilty beyond a resonable doubt.”

Pathetic

Take away all the guns. Then figure out which cops do which parts of the remaining job so violence inherent in policing is curtailed and controlled so it is applied fairly and equitably and only in proportion to clear need.

And if the law and facts are not on your side and you can't escape the truth as seen by millions of people about Floyd getting strangled for 9 minutes and 28 seconds, then blame the victim.

His neck dove under my knee!

Journalism is about investigation and reporting the truth.

The truth here seems pretty clear.

The only reasonable doubts in this matter is why Red supports a cop-murderer, and whether Red cares less about the truth than he does the rights of people of color.

I don't condemn the protest more than the motivation for it - not even close to it.

And yes, the persistence and recurrence of police violence is a far bigger problem than anything Rep. Waters said.

That doesn't make her words okay.

She spoke the words of the CR movement. They may not have been ‘strategic’ but saying be confrontational is not a call to violence.

What she did was no different than Trump telling people to go to the Capitol because of the "stolen election".

Don't like the outcome of the election? Riot.

Don't like it if the trial of Chauvin doesn't end in a guilty verdict? Riot.

Same behavior.

Those of interested in the law condemn both.

Others make excuses or attempt to redefine a clear message as something other than what was said in order to justify breaking the law or to argue that the law doesn't matter.

Either we live by the Constitution (the one that Waters and Trump swore to uphold) or we don't.

But when we don't, we will get the violence we deserve.

More idiocy from the California Maoist.
