45 minute wait,  at least...

Quote
A verdict has been reached in the trial of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin, according to a notice posted on the Hennepin County Court's website.

"A verdict has been reached and will be read between 3:30-4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20" (4:30-5:00 p.m. ET), according to the notice....

JURY IS IN

That was fast...

We know it’s not a hung jury.

Considering the amount of time spent deliberating Chauvin should cancel any plans for the near future.

That was my thought,  too.   Getting twelve people to acquit would take longer,  seems to me.

My radio host  "we're waiting to cross live to the US as soon as the verdict is announced".

Have y'all ever been waiting to cross live to Australia for a trial verdict?  :-)

I'm guessing the speed of the verdict would indicate 3 unanamous decisions, otherwise, there might have been questions about the law and more deliberation.

DK, but when Trump said phrases like what Waters said,  his listeners seemed to latch onto the message as code for get violent.  It's not that her message isn't in the Gandhian spirit,  it's that American ears now seem to hear it the wrong way and not just on the political Right.

Her implication is for the assembled to react to a verdict that she doesn't desire "by any means necessary".

Code speech, "Permission to riot, granted."

Same as Trump in 1/6/21.

Hyperbole, much?

By no means the same.

Equivalent. Completely.

Yes.

Don't give them any reason/excuse.
