Whatever Hamas is up to, Bibi has found a way to make them the less vicious and more law abiding party in this conflict. Why does Natenyahu hate Israel so much after all he has done for it and all it has done for him?

Because they are trying to throw him in prison and he is trying to avoid it.

It's not hate, it's just survival.

Yes,  it's a Wag the Dog scenario (1997 film,  worth a look if you're unfamiliar).

Get Hamas (who can be vicious) riled up,  then fan the flames once you've got the unrest started,  until you've got all-out war.   Then bomb the crap out of tall buildings that pose no threat (AP News,  medical training center,  educational book depository, etc)  so your base knows what a tough guy you are.   Kill plenty of women and children,  so as to keep Palestinians extremely angry and Hamas shooting.    Lather,  rinse,  repeat.    Oh,  and get American suckers to believe that your country didn't brutally dispossess hundreds of thousands of peaceful longterm residents and drown their descendants in an endless grinding cycle of poverty.  A couple million stuffed into a concentration camp narrow chunk about the size of metro Des Moines,  Iowa.

Yeah,  fuck you,  smutley.

I am familiar and I disagree with the analogy.

It ignores the very real role - present and past - played by Hamas, which is no passive Albania.

The density in Gaza City is pretty high, if lower than Monaco and Macau. That they are not in charge of their own water and power is a major problem. So, too, is Hamas' spending so much of the donated money on rockets.

Israel has a lot to answer for, not even just Bibi. But Hamas has a lot to answer for, too.

I had a friend in Detroit, Parri Norman, she was a dance teacher, her husband committed suicide, and she ended up homeless, and I was hoping there was a way that she could help by teaching dance to the homeless women, or something.

Anyhow, I tried to help her by being supportive, and I even lined up housing for her in California if she wanted to live in California, but she committed suicide. It is so sad.

She was young and beautiful with 2 daughters. (...)

We need to have very active Wellness Centers all over the USA that can help the homeless and the mentally ill.

It's a good idea.   I think a broader answer is to foster a more nurturing society that invests heavily in simple,  clean housing for the homeless.   Having a safe sheltered space to live should be considered the most basic and important social safety net.

Have a specialized segment of the construction industry that is funded by all of us,  so that small but livable studio apts and cottages are provided in a way that's not profit centered.

Groups such as Homeboy Industries can work together with Habitat For Humanity and Chrysalis to build housing for the homeless, and I suggest they start by building housing for the homeless people who are of retirement age, we can get the people 55 and older into retirement housing, and the young people can help to build the housing.

https://homeboyindustries.org/

https://www.habitat.org/

https://www.changelives.org/

It can all be done without a profit motive.

My favorite societies are ones in which the elders are respected, and in turn the elders wisely guide the way for the young people.

When you are young you work hard and then when you are an elder you have more responsibility and you work with your mind, you spend a life-time learning and then you guide the way for the next generation.

And in turn, the elders make sure that the young people are taken care of.

And yes, I think we need to have a more nurturing society that is less profit motivated.

And I think that the business owners have a duty to serve society, to those whom much is given then much is expected from.

I also support unions, and unions make sure that workers have some sort of retirement.

And I support Social Security, and Health Care.

Section 8 HUD Housing is wonderful, it is a great program.

Also, as we build, we need to include affordable housing in the plans, there can be small and cheap units, etc. And we can have highrise buildings, and the lower floors can be cheap, and the top floors can be expensive penthouses.

I also support Hostels where people can take a nice hot shower and where people can sleep in a nice comfortable bed for $15 per night.

And coffee drinking is healthy and reduces the risk of suicide, there needs to be bustling coffee houses in every neighborhood where you can get some coffee and companionship at the coffee shop.

The USA can be more social like Italy.

People can go for evening walks to the courtyard to socialize with other people, etc.

The people who are strong need to create a more loving society, the people at the top need to care about the people on the bottom.

https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2021/05/18/andrew-brown-shooting-video-nc-district-attorney-presser-vpx.cnn

The D.A. in this walked in having decided what the video showed without regard for the video, what the case merited without regard for the case he cited, and there was no way he was going to suggest the officers had erred even slightly.

There is a reason we are only being shown what we are and that, limited to the press briefing.

Thanks

It looks like everything is going to open back up as everyone gets vaccinated, and it could not have happened sooner.

Society sucks right now, everyone carries knives, it is not healthy. And I am not stupid enough to carry a knife to a gun fight, if I am going to carry a weapon then I am going to carry a gun. It is just sad that we all need to carry guns.

People have even been shooting out the windows of cars with BB guns.

https://www.ocregister.com/2021/05/17/more-car-windows-shattered-as-rash-of-freeway-bb-shootings-continues-in-orange-riverside-counties/

Orange County, we are wealthy and civilized, this is one of the wealthiest places on earth. If we cannot be civilized in Orange County then I do not know what to say.

We need to open back up, and we need to be kinder and gentler, and people are hurting right now, people are committing suicide right and left.

We also need to do a better job of raising our youth.

And we cannot have leaders who say "Grab them by the pussy." We cannot have leaders like Trump.

Women are committing suicide and some women feel like that is all that men want is sex.

We need to have better leaders at the top.

And if we cannot be civilized in Orange County, where we are rich, and where we have Disneyland, then I do not know what to say. We have a lot of hard work to do.

And people have been dividing us up into groups and have been fighting people against each other. That is what they do in prison to control the prison population, they divide people up by race and then they fight them against each other, and that is part of how they control people in prison.

They are doing the same thing to our societies, they are dividing everyone up by race. We need to have "E Pluribus Unum" instead of race wars, we need to have many who stand as one. We need to all stand as one as Americans.

And no one should be hated for any reason, if people are hating you and abusing you then that should not be tolerated no matter who you are, all men are created equal.

We need to support our Civil Rights Act of 1964, and our Civil Rights Act of 1968, and all of the other achievements made in the Civil Rights Movement.

Some people want to divide us up, and they want us to go back to segregation. We cannot do that, we cannot go backwards.

Israel is different, Israel is only for the Jews, so they need to have their groups, but in the USA we are not like Israel and in the USA all men are created equal. The Jews and Arabs are equal as Americans in the USA. Israel is the land of the Jews, while the USA is the land of everyone.

We need to open back up, and we need to come back together, better and stronger.

And we need to focus on raising better children.

Salute,

Tony V.

Israel continued its airstrikes into Gaza, leaving behind a massive mound of rebar and concrete slabs in its attack on the six-story building that housed bookstores and educational centers used by the Islamic University and other colleges. Desks, office chairs, books and computer wires could be seen in the debris. Residents sifted through the rubble, searching for their belongings.

Israel warned the building’s residents ahead of time, sending them fleeing into the predawn darkness, and there were no reports of casualties.

“The whole street started running, then destruction, an earthquake,” said Jamal Herzallah, a resident of the area. “This whole area was shaking.”

Since 2012, Hamed al-Ijla had run a training center in the building, teaching first aid, hospital management and other skills to thousands of students. The only things remaining were a pile of red first aid bags, medical coats wrapped in plastic and one box of surgical gloves....

A minor missing detail. That building contained Hamas weapons of destruction.  Israel made sure all humans were warned of an impending strike. A trademark of the genocidal Hamas strategy is trying to get their own people killed to build international sympathy. (lather, rinse, repeat is, indeed, a Hamas hallmark of evil.)
 As to wagging the Dog.
5 million Palestinians will not be permitted to form the foreign  policy views of a half- Billion people in the greater Arab Middle East.

And Bernie, Elizabeth, and The Squad should be  called for  trying to redefine anti-semitism as legitimate anti-Israelism.

Firing rockets was not what precipitated all this.   It was a response (a horrible one,
for sure) to escalating Israeli police conduct in East Jerusalem,  and at Temple Mount.

Josh pointed out Wag the Dog isn't a good analogy.   I agree -- I was just drawing a parallel in the use of war as distraction by a corrupt pol.   RW Israelis knew what they were doing in E.  Jerusalem.   They knew they could trigger a foolish and volatile Hamas,  and get a war.

I used Wagging the Dog in a different connotation.
The 100 year War of Palestinian hatred of Jews has only discredited the Palestinians over and over again.
That obsession is not going to control the destiny of 500 million Arabs.
