"It was a mistake," explained Microsoft, about their having globally removed the tank man images from Bing.

Damned straight it was a mistake. That doesn't mean it wasn't intentional, but short-sighted.

Goose stepping? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

Biden's already come down BIG from his initial Infrastructure plan, but I suspect whatever eventually gets agreed to will be called HUGE!!!

And Rs will claim credit for rebuilding highways, bridges and tunnels in red states.

But turning democracy into rubble.

I don't feel like searching and pulling but In June 2020 I proposed a limited to do list for Joe to do: Beat covid, get America back to school and work, pass an infrastructure plan to goose the economy and put food on the table, pay the rent. Things most Americans could easily support. And then work on voting rights.

Then intro some EPA/Green initiatives so we don't continue pollute ourselves to oblivion. And most Americans would support that agenda and he'd have a fighting chance to hold Congress in '22.

its kind of playing out as I imagined.

Everybody wanted the covid relief, and most want an infrastructure, depending upon the definitions.

Repubs want and need voter suppression, Dems don't.

So a Voting Rights bill might be tricky to get done.

So I think Joe should ratchet up a plan to double or triple legal hiring at DoJ.

If Manchin hadn’t cock blocked the filibuster everything 85 million people voted for would be law.

Slow walking negotiations to then vote against the negotiated bill is GOP SOP.

Policy is winning politics deliver the policies you campaigned on and you keep winning. What did in the Obama Administration were moderate Dems who watered down the ACA and then slow walking it gave the Astro Turf Tea Party space to demonize Socialist Muslim imposter. 60 vote majority delivered incomplete program which is now Uber popular.

12 years later and the GOP is STILL trying to kill the ACA though in the wake of the pandemic if they ever succeeded they would suffer a blood bath.

Give the people not just what they want but what they need and they’ll understand who tried to keep them from getting it.

Status quo will destroy our democratic republic and send us into the white nationalist autocracy.

The time to do this is now and Manchin and Sinema are trying to deliver us to tyranny.

Is West Virginia more important than the rest of the country writ large?

I didn’t agree with you last June and I don’t agree now.

Alacrity is key when you have power because the longer you wait the more racism comes into play.

The 2020 election was somewhat derailed from a blowout by the GOP with help from Moderate Democrats including Rep. Clyburn giving credence to the fear freakout over Defund the Police instead of stepping up and say ing the GOP was fill of shit because NO DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE OF ANY NATIONAL STATURE called for defunding the police.

It was a conservative bogeyman and white folks let themselves get played.

When cops sparked the riots that began as demonstrations too many folks “we understand your concerns but all the burning and looting hurst your cause!”

No, it meant too many value property over people... and cops are still murdering civilians at a comparable rate.

In order to lead the world through the rest of this century the old paradigm of placating those in the middle will have to go because the middle is no longer the middle.

Republicans have gone so far right what used to be the middle is way right. Progressives are actually the moderates of the 60s. They ain’t the ones planting bombs and.burning the ROTC buildings.

Biden has come down and GOP is offering bullshit. If they don’t come up with a real compromise Biden gets to implement his plan... if those MODERATE DEMS Manchin, Sinema and their silent partners Testor and King don’t fuck this up.

Deep in the Ass of Texas?

Amazing this guy who is under indictment can wield this kind of power.

Yeah, let’s negotiate voting rights with these motherfuckers.

Moderates are fucking suckers in this day and age.

“And just knowing that we had twelve lawsuits that we had to win. And if we had lost one of them, if we’d lost Harris County — Trump won by 620,000 votes in Texas. Harris County mail-in ballots that they wanted to send out were 2.5 million, those were all illegal and we were able to stop every one of them,” he explained.

Thank God for Joe Manchin.
The election Bill is a freaking mess not to mention unconstitutional.
It would tie up Courts for years and not do anything to better the country.

Its an interesting belief that the politics of progressive Dems which has only modest support outside of progressive circles will be a killer platform in  for Dems in '22.

I think its deadly politics, in most states, for Dems, but...

Although Speaker of the House Marjorie Taylor Greene doling out committee chairs might prove entertaining.

You are so far out of step with rest of the nation it’s a crying shame.

Your perspective is 20 years out of date. After this pandemic people want big changes and they’d love it sooner than later.

The MAJORITY of Americans across the political spectrum want what you call progressive economic policies

Are you pulling a quote from yourself, or do you have some research to back that up?

Justice RED has spoken.

He prefers the GOP way of making the country better by increasing barriers for voters, gerrymandering, packing courts.

Whether the "majority of Americans across the political spectrum want what you call progressive economic policies" kind of doesn't matter, if you don't win where you need to win, or generate enthusiasm in individual districts.

Only 16 districts split their votes in 2020
Districts carried by a presidential candidate of one major party and a House candidate of the other party in 2020

MARGIN
DISTRICT   WINNER   PARTY   FLIPPED SEAT   HOUSE   PRESIDENT   DIFF.
NY-24   John Katkoi   R      R+10.2   D+9.1   +19.2
PA-01   Brian Fitzpatricki   R      R+13.1   D+5.8   +19.0
ME-02   Jared Goldeni   D      D+6.1   R+7.4   +13.5
CA-21   David Valadao   R   ✓   R+0.9   D+10.9   +11.8
CA-39   Young Kim   R   ✓   R+1.2   D+10.1   +11.3
NE-02   Don Baconi   R      R+4.6   D+6.5   +11.1
CA-25   Mike Garciai   R      R+0.1   D+10.1   +10.2
PA-08   Matt Cartwrighti   D      D+3.5   R+4.4   +8.0
NJ-03   Andy Kimi   D      D+7.8   R+0.2   +7.9
WI-03   Ron Kindi   D      D+2.7   R+4.7   +7.4
TX-24   Beth Van Duyne   R      R+1.3   D+5.4   +6.7
FL-27   María Elvira Salazar   R   ✓   R+2.7   D+3.2   +5.9
IL-17   Cheri Bustosi   D      D+4.1   R+1.6   +5.7
MI-08   Elissa Slotkini   D      D+3.6   R+0.8   +4.4
CA-48   Michelle Steel   R   ✓   R+2.1   D+1.5   +3.6
IA-03   Cindy Axnei   D      D+1.4   R+0.1   +1.5
i Incumbent in November 2020

SOURCES: THE COOK POLITICAL REPORT, DAILY KOS ELECTIONS

The GOP’s slight edge in these crossover seats is significant, as it continues a recent pattern in presidential contests of Republicans winning more districts with split outcomes. (Democrats previously held this advantage, from 2000 to 2008, but in 2010 they lost many seats in the South that had long been in their hands despite voters’ leaning toward the GOP at the presidential level.) However, while the GOP may have done somewhat better in the crossover seats in 2020, they still proved to be pivotal to the Democrats’ majority: The Democrats now hold 222 seats overall,4 and that’s in large part thanks to these seats. If they’d lost five or more of these split-ticket seats, Republicans would have gained control. In total, the average gap between the presidential and House margins in the 16 crossover seats was about 9.2 points, while the average difference in the remaining House seats was 4.4 points,5 indicative of just how close the presidential and House races ran together.

And that close alignment will likely be the reality moving forward. Even if the number of crossover seats increases in 2024, it would take a dramatic shift in our politics for enough voters to split their tickets to produce a lot of Democratic House members in seats carried by the GOP presidential nominee or vice versa. Now more than ever, these split-ticket outcomes are the exception, not the rule.

So, banks is right. It's about politics, not necessarily what the majority of Americans or the majority of American voters want.

Just using your own rhetorical constructs to poke some fun and point out an unpleasant truth Larry.

You accused me of being out of step while you at the same time seem to want a minority political faction (far left progressives) to push through their wish list and control the political agenda.

While you were babbling GO BIG and unable to articulate what you meant, I told you it was a 50-50 world where GO SMART was a better policy to effectuate long-term social change.

My bad, you were wrong guy to make that argument to.

You continue to confuse politics and policy.

LMAO

But its not that funny, as the morons of the far left will over play their hand, and the real fascist goose steppers will show you how its done.

So who's out of step Adolph?

Ok

I’m done.

Enough with the “Larry’s on meds” shit.

I was given Flexeril for three days post op. Other than that I was on no pain meds. The most discomfort I had was from the bandages pulling on my skin.

Now when I get home there’s an eighth of Lemon Crush waiting for me and I will certainly self .medicate

bambu wants to be on plenty of meds if he ever has to have an operation, or ever gets stung/bitten by a creature on the edge of the ocean.
The 'Green Whistle' is great, the lifeguards give it to you if you're in pain...morphine or something...the pain goes away and you are relaxed.
"Stuff pain, stuff this new 'think the pain away' tripe the doctors are now doing...give me the meds!"  - bambu
