As a freedom loving socialist...

HOLY OXYMORON, BATMAN!!!

Scandinavians just HATE freedom.

Better find an encyclopedia and find out what socialism actually means.  Before your anus lips start flapping inanely again.

ACA lives to insure another day

SC 7-2 votes that Repub states had no standing

Win for the people

somewhere Barack O is smiling

Repubs looking under every rock to find a victim that they can exploit
Ah, standing. The time honored SCOTUS tradition of ignoring issues whenever possible.

Age old truth about government programs

GOP fought Ocare for a decade just like they keep trying to  undermine SocSec and Medicare

Thing is once people see the benefits of said program woe to the party that tries to take it away.

I would bang the GOP morning noon and night for fucking with healthcare during a pandemic

You're overthinking it, Che.

When someone attacks you while stating that their primary purpose is to destroy you and your way of life, do you not have an obligation and a right to defend yourself?

I mean, if you think it's all about the perpetrators, begin at the beginning, Che.

No terrorism, no counterattack.
You view terrorism as the beginning? Interesting place to start.

Do, a deer,  a female deer....

What's missing from several posters here is a grasp of what terrorism comes from.   Groups of people that lack the military power to wage war tend to respond to stronger oppressors with terror attacks.   I haven't read up the thread yet,  but I feel someone is going to point out that one person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter.

Julie Andrews has much to teach us..

Timothy McVeigh teach you that?
You ARE aware there are those who consider him a freedom fighter,  right?

Yes, and some people consider you to be intelligent, but that doesn't make it so.
I would rather be thought an idiot by others than a genius by you.
The difference between Genius and Stupidity; is that Genius has its limits" : (Albert Einstein)

The accidental hero.

An unemployed addict with 8 criminal convictions who was unjustly murdered, becomes the new icon for the Woke Era, posed here, sitting on a bench, outside of Newark City Hall.

What is this idealized George Floyd is thinking about on that bench? Justice? Police reform? His family? Counterfeiting? Where to score some  fentanyl and methamphetamine?

Old heroes can still be found in the Wars of America statue in Newark's Military Park erected in 1926, from the same sculptor who gave us Mount Rushmore.

He was a human being whose murder galvanized the entire western world.

If he had been Ward Cleaver HE WOULDNT HAVE BEEN MURDERED IN SUCH FASHION.

Chauvin INTENTIONALLY murdered the guy on camera and just knew he would suffer no repercussion.

He didn’t have to be a saint to be a symbol of the danger black people feel every day from the people OUR TAX DOLLARS pay to protect and serve  our communities.

Yes. Like I said, "unjustly murdered". An accidental hero.

Such is the world today.

California joins Texas in asking citizens to restrict power use.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/17/weather/california-extreme-heat-power-conservation/index.html

The difference?

California gave a 5 hour window on one day.

Texas made the request on Tuesday to start then and run through Friday, after several days of unexpected outages around the state.

I'm not a lawyer, but I do not understand, nor comfortable with, why a legal act can be a target of discrimination, even if it is in conflict with another's religious belief. Nor am I sure of its long-term benefit to society.

This looks like different frosting on the same Colorado wedding cake.

But it tastes the same.

my 2 scents.

Yep

Reasonable, manageable numbers.

If only we didn't need 4 times that much in infrastructure.

Nah....

Money just sits there

In time - further allotment, surely.  Socail programs are NOT infrastructure, AOC-lite.

There is a decades old precedent that laws of general application that impact but do not target a religious practice are Constitutional. The SCOTUS left that precedent intact. The case involved a Catholic adoption agency that referred gay couples to other agencies. The SCOTUS ruled solely on that factual case, though three justices wanted to overrule the precedent.

Chauvin INTENTIONALLY murdered the guy on camera and just knew he would suffer no repercussion.

Nah - he's at fault and all told a bad cop but I don't think Chauvin wanted what happened to GF.

Of course they do.  Wind energy plunged by two-thirds since late last week.
Best advice for people headed to Texas or California, buy a diesel fuel generator as a backup.

If he didn’t want that to happen he wouldn’t have done what he did for another three minutes after Floyd was unresponsive.
