On the issue of electrical infrastructure...
In Anaheim the electric company is owned by the people of Anaheim, so when the power lines are all put underground over the next 50 years then it will be paid for by the city, but when everyone pays their electric bills then they send the money to the city, so that is how it is paid for. The people of the city of Anaheim reap the rewards of updating the electric system and from putting the power lines underground, because the people of the city own the power company.
But, the tax payers should not have to pay to upgrade power companies that we not own and that we do not profit from.
The tax payers should not pay to upgrade power grids for PG&E, and Edison, and other power companies, those companies can pay to upgrade their systems themselves and they can pay for it with the money that their customers send to them. Those companies are extremely wealthy, and they can pay to upgrade their systems themselves, the tax payers should not pay to upgrade their systems.
If the tax payers pay for the systems, then the systems should no longer be owned by Edison, and PG&E, etc, but instead should be owned by the people, like in Anaheim. If the people pay for it, then the people should own it.
Also of note, in Anaheim when people pay their electric bills, and when we sell electricity to Disneyland, etc, then some of the money goes into a General Fund to be used by the people of the city however we want, and some of the money goes to help the homeless people, etc.
And the same with the water company, whoever pays for it should own it. Then, they can use the money received from people paying their bills to maintain and upgrade their systems.
I support having safe water, and clean electricity, etc, but I do not support giving money to greedy companies like PG&E and Edison, who do not do anything to help the homeless people nor to help their communities. They are greedy companies that will turn off poor people's electricity if they get behind in their bills. We should not give money to Edison nor to PG&E.
If the people pay for it, then the people should own it, like in Anaheim, and the people reap the benefits instead of some greedy company.
