It was just a half year ago or so that dems predicted confirming Amy Barrett to SCOTUS would sound the death knell for ObamaCare.
Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), who described Barrett’s potential appointment as “catastrophic,” pointed to the personal struggles of their constituents, spending minutes recounting heart-wrenching anecdotes.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) told viewers: “The president has been trying to get rid of it since he got in power … They’re trying to stack the deck against you.”
Republicans fought back, accusing the other party of attempting to politicize the Supreme Court: “I will object to any time anyone tries to attribute to you a policy position. You’re not a policy maker, you’re a judge,” said Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT).
So SCOTUS (7-2 vote) just turned down another GOP effort to scuttle ObamaCare with Barrett one of the seven.
Mike Lee was right.
