Wow,  I could hear the backfire in South Dakota.

I used to read Carl Hiaasen novels and think his depictions of Florida exaggerated both the perfidy and goofiness of that peninsula.   Now I know better.

Being reported that a $1.2 T infrastructure deal has been agreed upon by WH and bi-partisan senate negotiators. (led by Manchin and Romney)

Ok for an initial installment.

Woefully inadequate for the problem at hand.

HALF LOAF or NO LOAF?

or you can just let them eat cake.

SMART money says they take a half loaf

Both sides will call it a win

Americans hopefully will be a little less hungry and some will make a few bucks off this.

But Biden banks a bi-partisan win that America likes and shows he can negotiate away from grid-lock (whether its true or not is another thing)

Politics Larry.

and then we're off to our next battle.

What part of  “OK for an initial installment.” Isn’t a grudging acceptance of half a loaf?

What part of every Republican refusing to back a motion to even debate voting rights after unanimously voting for Juneteenth legislation tells you the GOP as a whole is looking to actually solve problems?

 Good policy is good politics.

Half assed policies are punished.

It’s like Groundhog Day.

Moderates think they’re dealing with the GOP circa 2005

I'm pretty sure Cong-Dems know what and who they are dealing with.

I suspect the American public doesn't.

We make deals and negotiate every day.

Those motherfuckers don't.

They may discover there is a price to pay.

If this goes through Biden can market it as a win and build credibility with voters for his leadership

And it gives cred to Dem policies that voters want in '22 and beyond.

And Larry moderate Dems account for about 39% of the party, liberals 32% progressives about 15%  and conservatives 14%.

I consider myself a liberal.

You want to lose elections forever, keep on marginalizing and blaming moderate-Dems, and pushing too far-left programs the 15% want.

Somebody shared that the Michigan election report had come out. Here's a link to it:
https://misenategopcdn.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/99/doccuments/20210623/SMPO_2020ElectionReport.pdf

Quote
In a highly anticipated report released Wednesday, the Republican-led Michigan Senate Oversight Committee rebutted former President Donald Trump's voter fraud claims, debunking allegations of malfeasance in the state's election last fall and affirming that Joe Biden was victorious.

The report is the product of an eight-month inquiry and concludes there was no basis or evidence to support the Trump campaign's repeated claims that the election results failed to reflect the will of the voters.

"As is often the case, the truth is not as attractive or as immediately desirable as the lies and the lies contain elements of truth," state Sen. Ed McBroom, the Republican chairman of the committee that investigated the election, said in a statement that accompanied the report. "We must all remember: 'extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof' and 'claiming to find something extraordinary requires first eliminating the ordinary.'"

The report, which was supported by every Republican on the committee, was clear: "This Committee found no evidence of widespread or systematic fraud in Michigan’s prosecution of the 2020 election."

There is consideration of suing those who filed bogus fraud claims.

What you don’t seem to grasp the Biden and Dems BASE is moderate and black, most often those are the same voters!

Which is why black people tend to vote for the establishment candidates more than progressives and liberals.

Democrats who Moderate elected cannot keep fucking over their base voters just because they and you don’t grok that.

You stay on this track and the GOP fucks over just enough black voters to win and the first th8ng white folks will lament is “well black turnout was down.” (See 2016)

Same as it ever was.

There is consideration of suing those who filed bogus fraud claims.

But they conclude by saying they need all new voter restrictions because of the uncertainty caused by the thoroughly debunked claims.

Half a loaf first, to show bipartisanship is possible when some republicans find their big boy pants, then the rest of the loaf because it is the right policy, the people want it, and there is no good argument against doing it.

Here's what's going on in the world today.

. 3,000+ people under 21 have been kidnapped by strangers in the USA since 2010.
. Every 15 seconds in the US a home is invaded by strangers, 30% of the invaders are armed.

Absolute security protects absolutely.

People under 21 should be trained in gun use and carry a gun 24/7.
People with an income of $7,500 or less are most likely to be home during the invasions. Yes, poor people get it in the neck again.
Govt and cops can't stop the invasions. People should carry guns and make their homes secure.

CNN reports Sen. Angus King (I-ME) will stand behind keeping the filibuster after previously saying he was for scrapping the filibuster for “voting rights” and “democracy.”

King, who has previously said he would be in support of changing the filibuster rules if Senate Republicans block the Democrats’ partisan election takeover bill, now is in favor of preserving the filibuster.

King joins democrats Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema in keeping the Filibuster along with all 50 GOP Senators.

This is so enraging.

Not that our history is better - we have committed so many atrocities that we can't even keep track of them all.

Why would you comment on this article by citing the US?

Why wouldn't I?!

Is there some reason that I should point out others' egregious conduct and ignore our own?!
