Rudy is out of the law business: NEW YORK (Reuters) -Rudy Giuliani's law license in New York state was suspended on Thursday, as a state appeals court found he had lied in arguing that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from his client, former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Giuliani, 77, a former U.S. Attorney in Manhattan and New York City mayor, was sanctioned for making unsubstantiated claims in court, testimony before lawmakers, press conferences and other media appearances about electoral fraud.

The five-justice Appellate Division in Manhattan found "uncontroverted" evidence that Giuliani made "demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public" in trying to overturn the election, which Democrat Joe Biden won.

"These false statements were made to improperly bolster (Giuliani's) narrative that due to widespread voter fraud, victory in the 2020 United States presidential election was stolen from his client," the court said. "We conclude that respondent's conduct immediately threatens the public interest and warrants interim suspension from the practice of law."

Cocaine, weapons, and then assault on a police officer, but it's a "racist system" that caused the problem?

Yes, but you have a hard time understanding cause and effect.

And being "good" hasn't made things much better.

In Chicago home invading thugs are using assault rifles, and killing residents...at 3am sometimes.
Panic rooms could be set up at not great expense.
Master bedroom upstairs could be made into one...actually, by installing a specially designed grill on the staircase, thugs couldn't get upstairs.
Single storey home, master bedroom could be made a panic room...reinforced steel door frame and super strength door.
Fridge, satellite phone, cell phone, torches, battery-operated alarm/siren, food, water, ensuite or portable toilet facilities, etc.

The liberal swoon over Kamala Harris is ebbing.
It was just five months ago that the LA Times announced a new feature  "Covering Kamala Harris," a on-going feature  dedicated to her “ historic rise to the White House".
The Times justified its coverage with  Kamala Harris is the first vice president who is Black, South Asian, female and the direct descendants of immigrants.

Well, now.
Yesterday the Times entry in “ Covering Kamala Harris” was hardly complimentary.

Essential Politics: Failure of elections bill shows limits of Kamala Harris’ influence

This is the June 23, 2021, edition of the Essential Politics newsletter. Like what you’re reading? Sign up to get it in your inbox three times a week.

There was justifiable skepticism this month when President Biden announced Vice President Kamala Harris would lead an effort to expand voting rights and pledged the administration would “fight like heck with every tool at my disposal” to pass a major bill in Congress.

Fast forward three weeks, and Democrats are where many thought they would be: nowhere. The Senate killed the House-passed “For the People Act” on Tuesday, with Democrats lacking the 60 votes to overcome a Republican filibuster.

As for Harris’ role, the takeaway was how little we saw of her. No dramatic trips to the Senate to court votes. No statements on how to find compromise. No known talks with West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, the sole Democratic holdout in supporting the bill, or Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Kentucky Republican who kept his members from breaking ranks in opposition to even debating it.

All those nice diversity check boxes Harris claimed as assets seem to have been canceled by the one left unchecked:
COMPETENCE

She can’t make cheese dicked fascists like you love their country, Red. It’s not her failure. It’s yours. It’s the cost we pay for giving cheese dicked fascists like you room to breathe much less a pretend hold on any political power. It’s a mistake we are correcting, you poxy white nationalist whore.

New major voting rights legislation will be enshrined in US law before you find your next boy to “wrestle”. You can count on that.

Yes, but you have a hard time understanding cause and effect.

And being "good" hasn't made things much better.

So, you're okay with the criminals' actions in this case, and their defenders.

Or, you didn't read the article.

Earlier in the day, Rock Hill officers and authorities from the Department of Homeland Security stopped Ricky Price, who was described as a "known offender," according to a statement from police. A K-9 later alerted the presence of narcotics after he called his brother, Travis Price.

Investigators allegedly located two bags of marijuana hidden in Ricky Price's car door and found a 9mm handgun in his back seat. As officers tried to take Ricky Price into custody, Travis Price reportedly "bumped" and "shoved" officers while trying to collect his brother's belongings, which were temporarily removed following a search.

Moments later, officers removed Ricky Price's handcuffs to remove his jewelry per his request before he allegedly tried to flee and threw multiple punches, one of which struck a policeman in the face. The 15-minute incident was captured in a Facebook Live video from a bystander, which gained more than 2,200 likes and around 92,000 views.

Both brothers were eventually brought to the ground as the struggle ensued, and one officer was seen punching Ricky Price's thigh "to gain compliance." After Ricky Price allegedly continued to resist, police hit him in the face.

Law enforcement later purportedly discovered a "Crown Royal bag containing crack cocaine" in Ricky Price's vehicle. Police subsequently charged him with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, unlawful carry of a handgun, possession of a firearm by someone convicted of a violent offense, and resisting arrest.

Bye, josh. You're officially an idiot.

Chauivin (sentencing scheduled for tomorrow) will likely get more years in prison than this traitor: A female linguist who worked for the Pentagon in Iraq was sentenced to 23 years behind bars for giving classified information to a Hezbollah-tied foreign national.

Mariam Taha Thompson was charged in May 2020 in federal court with “transmitting highly sensitive classified national defense information to a foreign national," who she believed would provide the information to Lebanese-based Hezbollah, a foreign terrorist organization tied to Iran.

Court records show Thompson signed an extensive statement of facts in late January admitting to the covert plot, and she pleaded guilty in March. Thompson faced a maximum sentence of up to life imprisonment.

I would hope so considering he was convicted of murder...

Community police relations didn’t break down in Rock Hill, SC last night.

The arrest video was a spark for the events on Wednesday. Decades of racist policing in Rock Hill laid the pyre it set off.

It’s something an ignorant fuck like Ham will have a hard time processing.

This is so enraging.

Not that our history is better - we have committed so many atrocities that we can't even keep track of them all.

Why would you comment on this article by citing the US?

Why wouldn't I?!

Is there some reason that I should point out others' egregious conduct and ignore our own?!

Heh

Fuckin nonsensical clown.

they give you lithium because you're sick of playing Vegas?   Sick of Vegas is a sign of improving mental health,  not a mood disorder.

Well, you know what they say. When you are tired of Vegas you are tired of life. Which explains its rising suicide rate.

Heh.  Thanks, Mr. Boswell.  Your upcoming "The Life of Britney Spears, LLD" is much anticipated in these quarters!

A single (partial)building collapse in Florida is due to Climate Change?
The hundreds of thousands of USA buildings still standing strong are due to what?
I am so confoosed.

Yes, you are very confused.

(a) You think this is a single building's collapse, when it is not - it is just the most recent substantial building to be lost in the US. And I did observe that it is a possibility that it was caused by or influenced by a combination of climate change and water usage. So hard to keep these things in mind.

(b) The vast bulk of the USA's buildings are not in Florida, Ward. I don't know if you knew that. Florida is one of the areas of the country most prone to have sinkholes. "The most damage from sinkholes tends to occur in Florida, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania."
(.....)

We had part of a neighborhood drop into a sinkhole in Blackhawk, a town a few miles north of here, due to an old mine that had been largely forgotten.  The saddest part is that many homes on the edge of the hole are still in fine shape, but because the owners know the void extends under their properties they are forced to abandon them.  There is a legal goatfuck presently underway with various agencies playing CYA and hiding under desks.
