See you guys around.   Thanks for some good times,  illuminating chats, web tidbits.

Thought:  when you don't temp ban for trolling,  pretty soon all you'll have is trolling and reactions to the trolling.   All honest discussion evaporates.

You've still got some good sports threads,  so I think Elba will keep on rolling.   I'll try to look in FTtT,  maybe drop in a movie review.

Which posts would you have temp banned for in the last 24 hours, Can?

And thus far, the majority of Elbans has seemed opposed to such measures, even for members of their opposition.

Which would seem to support both your view and your action, but nonetheless...

Good news in Missouri:
https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/22/politics/missouri-medicaid-expansion-court/index.html

Their Supreme Court has said yes to Medicaid Expansion.

Quote
(CNN)Missouri must expand Medicaid to low-income residents, the state Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Thursday, finding that a state ballot initiative that voters approved last year was constitutional.

The decision overturned a lower court ruling that said the ballot measure approving expansion had violated state law.
"The court has said the law is very clear, and that sends a very clear message to both the governor and the legislature that they need to get on with implementation," said Chuck Hatfield, a partner at Stinson law firm and one of the attorneys who brought the current suit, stressing that the decision was 7-0.
The Medicaid expansion, which was supposed to take effect on July 1, was blocked by Republican Gov. Mike Parson, who said in May that the state could not proceed because lawmakers had not appropriated funding. More than 275,000 low-income Missourians could gain coverage under expansion.

Too funny!

https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/22/politics/james-comer-kentucky-1-6/index.html

Quote
(CNN)Rep. James Comer has a brilliant idea of how to get to the bottom of what happened before, during and after the US Capitol riot on January 6 -- and how to prevent it from happening again.

"The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to have an independent commission that we know who's going to be on it," he told CNN's Pam Brown in an interview on Wednesday. "It doesn't need to be political people."

Really ... that is intriguing! It sounds a lot like the independent commission that Comer, a Kentucky House Republican, voted against in the House. And that Senate Republicans -- led by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell -- blocked in the Senate.

In fact, it's not a lot like that proposal. It is that proposal.

Gov. Kay Ivey says it is time to blame the unvaccinated for the increase in COVID cases.

What do you suppose she knows that so many other GOP "leaders" don't seem to have figured out?

Are leaders calling for not getting vaccinated?  I hadn't seen this.

To all of the pointy head progressive democrats giving retirement advice to SCOTUS.
Justice Stephen Breyer has hired a full complement of law clerks for the upcoming term.

This would probably be an example of what Can meant by trolling, huh?

I didn't make the claim you are making.

But a quick example of what I am talking about would be Gov. DeSantis' explanation that his state's high case numbers are purely seasonal in nature and nothing he needs to react to.

Not blaming it on a lack of vaccinations.

But there are plenty of elected GOP officials speaking against the vaccines around the country, Kid. If you aren't hearing it, it is because you are not listening.

As for "who is responsible?" - you mean for EXTREMISM?  Can be asked on a number of fronts. ANTIFA and BLM included.  A good point made by our side.  And tossed aside by much of yours.

You gaslight like the racist rapist imposter we just kicked out of the White House, America’s biggest loser, the one losing the crime ring he has always pretended was a company.

You lie like a disgraced OSU wrestling coach worming his way into congress.

Antifa is still the official position of the United States military and every patriot in this country.

Why do you feel so inferior to Black people? Did you have it too easy in your bubble of white privilege?

Oh, those polls!

Voters in nearly three dozen congressional districts across the country overwhelmingly favor a massive bipartisan infrastructure package, though relatively few support tying its passage to a broader Democratic spending proposal, according to a new poll.

https://www.nolabels.org/taxes-spending-study/

A top Democratic pollster has warned the party’s elected officials that skyrocketing inflation is affecting key voters ahead of next year’s midterm elections, according to a new report.

Celinda Lake, who worked for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and still advises the White House, told Axios that the issue of rising prices is gaining prominence in both public polling and focus groups.

“Women voters are really experiencing it, because they’re always more focused on kitchen table economics, microeconomics,” Lake told the outlet, later adding that “the key target vote in the 2022 election is going to be non-college-educated women … because they are the most undecided

This was NOT good.

Not good at all

So, erm, the President is not allowed to poke fun at extreme conspiracy nuts and their false narratives of Democratic policy?

http://www.salon.com/2021/07/23/of-course-trump-stalled-the-brett-kavanaugh-probe-republicans-never-cared-about-metoo/

Now we have an associate justice on the Supreme Court that has to recuse himself from all cases touching on rape and perjury because he is shown to be a lying rapist. It’s about as republican as it gets.
