There is plenty of research to go with the doctor's story about her son and his wrist. There is a widespread (mistaken) belief that Blacks are less sensitive to pain than other races are which is ostensibly the cause of their being given less and lesser painkillers than others.

We have a police problem:

The video discussed is not linked in the article, but apparently a 30 second video from Atlanta was posted on social media, showing a male police officer kicking a handcuffed woman in the head while she was lying face down on the ground.

There were two other officers present, at least, one a woman.

The man has been suspended without pay while the woman's been shifted to administrative tasks. All officers present are being investigated.

But... at what point is it ever appropriate to kick a handcuffed, non-threatening prisoner in the head?! I don't care what the prisoner had sad or done prior to being subdued and no longer a danger. You just don't do that.

And if your fellow officer does kick such a prisoner, you (a) try to stop it and (b) report it - it's a crime and that's your job!

We have a problem - that US citizens in great number are refusing vaccination

That a high percentage of the black (Republican) community is included among this group signals that someone or some group of individuals needs to be doing a better job influencing blacks (Republicans) to get vaccinated.

If one is true then so is the other, eh?  Don't throw stones, then complain when pelted.

This stuff goes way back.   Benjamin Mosely,  a British doctor,  back in the late 1700s, wrote the infamous treatise on blacks having less pain in surgery.   When I was Pre-med,  back in the 70s, there was still that belief and also,  bizarrely that blacks had lower lung capacity.  Spirometers had "race correction" settings built in.  And they still do,  in software on many platforms.  The next time  you want to place total trust in a doctor,  keep that in mind.  (edited for typos)
