Now they find out that the Biden Administration is sitting on 29 million doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines that are about to expire at the end of Aug and is refusing to release them.
Enough vaccine to fully vaccinate every child and young person in Australia.
Yes, Joe and Co are just going to leave these vaccines in the warehouses to expire then throw them out in the trash.

Wow.

Fact check,  Kid.    My son's job includes dealing with storage of Pfizer vax,  which is the bulk of the soon-to-be expired stockpile.   It stores at minus 94 degrees Fahrenheit.  To send 26 million doses to Sydney would involve having a massive fleet with scarce and specialized refrigeration equipment aboard and special transfer protocols so that the expire date doesn't move up suddenly.   No one is "sitting" on the doses.   The logistics are extremely problematic.  What's your source of that news clip,  btw?

In case you miss this,  I will repost this at regular intervals,  and perhaps ask others to repost it,  in case you're in one of your regular Iggy cycles.

Don't confuse him with the facts.

New Zealand's about to have $10,000,000 worth of MMR vaccines go bad because the COVID vaccine rollout has taken so much of their energy and attention and the pandemic has made getting folks in difficult.

These are tough times. And I would call for an end to finger-pointing, except... it is so appropriate and needful at the moment.

The article on top right now is Officials split on masking children in schools as pediatric hospitals fill up with Covid-19 patients

Quote
In Florida, which has the second-highest rate of new cases per capita after Louisiana, children's hospitals and staff are "overwhelmed," said Dr. Aileen Marty, an infectious disease expert at Florida International University.

"The numbers of cases in our hospitals in children and our children's hospitals are completely overwhelmed," Marty told CNN's Jim Sciutto on Friday evening.

"Our pediatricians, the nursing, the staff are exhausted, and the children are suffering. And it is absolutely devastating. ... Our children are very much affected. We've never seen numbers like this before," she said.

11 month old with COVID-19 was airlifted 150 miles because Houston had no pediatric bed for her. The good news is she seems to have made a full recovery.

Navigating The Argument Room this morning, a simple question arose:  whose opinion on the Constitution has more weight, the guy who went to law school or the guy who went to cement school?   (it would be a logic fallacy to say either is sure to be right,  but professional training does matter, which is why we don't call cement makers when we're in legal trouble)(unless we're Tony Soprano maybe)

The key is to remember that what is unconstitutional or not is subject to the whims of the appointed justices, which is why we get some major reversals along the way.

SCOTUS is not infallible.

Neither were the Founding Fathers.

So, what's constitutional today may be unconstitutional tomorrow, according to the primary body that gets a vote.

Is imposing a national voter ID unconstitutional?
Is imposing a ban on voter ID nationally unconstitutional?

YKMV.

Wouldn't the supremacy clause (article VI) allow a federal law on fair voting procedures in states?   Especially where election to a federal office is concerned.   But yes,  our knowledge does vary.   Hopefully the Court remembers that it's not supposed to be interpreting on the basis of whims.

She congratulated the crowd for their area's low vaccination rate.

"During an event in Alabama, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) suggested the crowd greet government volunteers promoting Covid-19 vaccines with guns if they knock on their doors."

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Alabama, while MTG was talking:

Quote
Vaccine doses are going to waste in Alabama, where millions remain unvaccinated. A state health official says 7,000 J&J, 11,000 Moderna and about 47,000 Pfizer have expired. “That's extremely unfortunate when we have such a low vaccination rate,” Dr. Scott Harris says.

Americans don’t like fascists or their policies. Republicans are very ugly and smell absolutely terrible politically. They can no longer win elections, but they can be locked up as a matter of public safety.

Especially where election to a federal office is concerned.
The Constitution has already delegated that responsibility to the states.
It also prevents states from discriminating against voters based on sex or the color of their skin.
It has also been interpreted by SCOTUS that one man/one vote shall apply to state legislatures.
Decisions regarding ID cards, etc. are solely the business of the states.

But you're okay with her suggesting that they greet the volunteers with guns.
