Malcolm Nance on Jill Wine-Banks’ pod re: Afghanistan

He suggests a full-press evacuation intervention running till the 31st. Allies, NGO’s, Journalists, etc. Regional extraction points and doing the meat grinder bureaucracy out of country at our bases around the world.

Some nice deep background with Kipling quotes, war stories, and all.

But it's hard to win in swing zones if you call Republicans brutal oppressors and decaying morons.   And Independents can be fussy babies,  who blanch and soil themselves when things get hot.   (one reason I no longer ID myself as an Independent -- I've grown tired of the company there)

We may get some help from the GOP, as this seems highly typical behavior from the candidates they have to offer,

http://www.politico.com/news/2021/08/19/elders-ex-fiancee-said-he-brandished-a-gun-at-her-506286

This is what’s coming to define the GOP brand. People who can’t even manage to govern themselves can’t be allowed to have a role in governing anyone else. It is why republican administrations and decisions are all disasters.

Fac, I find much to like in both your reply posts,  and value optimism.   I do wonder if it's possible to get dirty money out of their machinery though.   If they all implode from sheer corruption or personal turpitude, I hope the people are paying attention and not too busy watching cat videos.

Washington is now awash in the Afghanistan Blame Game.
Consider the conversation President Biden had with ABC’sGeorge Stephanopoulos. Biden said nobody on his
entire national security team pushed back.
If that is true, then that is an indictment of his entire national security team.
Whose head(s) will roll?

Of course the national security team is now leaking just the opposite (and anything else) to cover their asses or point fingers at Joe.

And don’t forget those words of John McCain in 2014 when he opposed Obama’s pick for assistant Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

He's totally unqualified," the Republican senator told Reuters, when asked why he was holding up Blinken's nomination to be deputy Secretary of State.( Now the Biden Secretary of State)

"He's the guy who said we're leaving behind the richest, safest Iraq in history. Look it up," McCain said, referring to Blinken's reassuring comments two years ago about the decision to withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq.

Obama’s mistake turns out to be America’s embarrassment 7 years later.

Does he keep his job?

Is the left wing of the Dems still holding up the vote on the infrastructure bill?

Get it done.

Put people back to work.

Cat videos about republican turpitude is worth a shot.

As for money, under our current laws it’s pretty easy. How directly connected to Al Qaeda did a group have to be after 9/11 to have its US funds frozen? Not very. The laws enabling that are still on the books today.

If you have ever hired Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, 3%ers, etc. do do security for one of your events or have appeared with any of these groups’ leadership or self-identifying members on stage at an event, your funds are frozen. Sue and appeal away as we foot drag about it while still meeting claims with the strongest objections.

If you’ve taken money from entities that have funded Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, 3%ers, etc., or funded platforms that promote any of them or can be shown to be in alliance with them are you part of their network? Your funds are frozen. You may stand a better chance of seeing those funds again once the government has exhausted procedural moves and appeals, in a few election cycles.

The street arms of the right wing are clearly anti-American terrorists willing to act violently on American soil to advance their political goals, often escalating their attacks on Americans to include deadly force. The laws are clear as they clearly fall within all the definitions of terrorist organizations.

Bioterrorism is their new front in their ongoing active war.

Hypocrisy and CYA are never in short supply when it comes to ducking policy fuck-ups.

Biden messed up cleaning the mess created by Bush and his predecessors.

The last one out of that shit-hole was always going to take the blame, and Joe will have to shoulder it as best as possible.

Which may be crushing in the short-term as the chaos, suffering and atrocities from that 7th century shit hole that would scare the shit out of Genghis Khan's hordes, are broadcast nightly.

But let's not bullshit ourselves, this was not Biden's war, and he didn't lose it, but the hypocrites will fling bullshit nonetheless, to distance their own responsibilities in this 20 year fiasco.

Get it done.

Put people back to work.

They’re just sorting out the four trillion dollar back end that will keep people back at work and make that work all together better for employers, employees, and customers, as well as everyone who lives upwind or downstream.

A few more weeks yet and liberals will be rubbing bellies with blue dogs.

Think big & go big.

There’s a lot on the line.

It would be good to get both packages passed before the republicans blow up the filibuster by attacking the economy via the debt ceiling vote.

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Alexandra Datig, the former fiancee and longtime radio producer for California GOP gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder, says she broke off an 18-month engagement with the conservative talk show host in 2015 after he waved a gun at her while high on marijuana.

No surprise here.

About two dozen State Department officials serving at the embassy in Kabul sent an internal memo to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and another top State Department official last month warning of the potential collapse of Kabul soon after the Aug. 31 troop withdrawal deadline, according to a U.S. official and a person familiar with the cable.

The cable, sent via the State Department’s confidential dissent channel, warned of rapid territorial gains by the Taliban and the subsequent collapse of Afghan security forces, and offered recommendations on ways to mitigate the crisis and speed up an evacuation, the two people said...

The classified cable represents the clearest evidence yet that the administration had been warned by its own officials on the ground that the Taliban’s advance was imminent and Afghanistan’s military may be unable to stop it.

From WSJ.com
Thank God this is coming to light now. The Biden Administration still has a good two weeks to conduct an orderly Evacuation before the feared collapse begins!

The thing the folks talking about the knowledge of the collapse are ignoring is that there wasn't a way to prevent the Afghan government from collapsing without our violating the bogus deal that Trump set up, which would have given the Taliban (and Russians) the excuse they wanted to open fire even more on everybody.

And the government would still have fallen.

This was a when, not an if.

Too funny.
The Candidate, John Cox, is NOT challenging Gavin Newsome.
