Bambu, people in America protect themselves, and provide for their own protection, instead of depending on the government and police for security.
When my parents owned 360 acres sixty miles outside of Battle Mountain, Nevada, they wanted to have a cattle ranch and they wanted to live like the television show "Bonanza." The nearest police station was 60 miles away, so you need to own guns and you need to be able to protect yourself and your family, you need to provide for your own security.
Certainly in the city where the police are there in 15 minutes, it is a lot safer, but out in Nevada you have to own a gun and you need to provide for your own security.
And the Cowboys love the Mexicans. In Texas everyone loves the Mexicans. My neighborhood in Anaheim is a majority Latino neighborhood.
It is great to have police, and the police need to protect the women and children, etc, but the men need to be able to provide for their own security. And of course women can own guns as well, you always hear about crazy men killing women when the woman breaks up with them, the women need to be able to own guns and dogs.
We do not need walls, and border patrol agents, etc. We need to have a good relationship with our neighbors, Mexico, and Canada. And we do not need more government intrusion when it comes to immigration, etc, we need less government intrusion.
Our government is important, but the real power of the USA is the people. And especially after the corona crisis, everyone wants their freedom back.
And on the issue of immigrants, instead of making them criminals, then we need to make them legal like Reagan did. We need to make our immigrants legal so that they can call the police in the case of an emergency and so that they can join labor unions, etc.
On the issue of Afghanistan, we need to go back in now while we still control the airport, and we need to secure our supplies and weapons, and we need to secure Afghanstan while the people have a free and fair election. We can go in with the United Nations, NATO, Spain, the French Foreign Legion, and others and we can secure Afghanistan while they have an election to elect a new Government. Time is not an issue for me.
What is Australia's position? Australia is welcome to help us remove the Taliban and keep the peace while the people of Afghanistan have a fair and free election.
Salute,
Tony V.
On 9/11 my former Prime Minister John Howard, he of the "auto/semi auto gun ban and buyback", was in NYC.
Watching the terror unfold and NYC burning, he immediately invoked the ANZUS Alliance and offered President Bush help.
Aussie troops once again left my shores to fight and die in foreign lands...to help stop the bad people from taking over the world.
My People were against the invasion of Afghanistan, having watched Russia's defeat and Rambo 3.
America had been attacked bigtime, and Alliances are not one way streets...so PM Howard sent the troops to basically train the Afghans to fight for themselves.
Big waste of time and troops' lives that was. PM Howard assures us otherwise.
Won't be going back, done with Afghanistan.
Got transport planes evacuating citizens and Afghan friends...flights have been suspended after the suicide bombings.
