Manchin and Sinema have never made clear what they fucking want. All they have said is no.

Meanwhile the Progressives and the Moderates in the House got on the same page as far as concessions to the legislation.

Dont forget both M and S agreed to the $3.5 trillion top line (down from $6 trillion) and then started saying, uh no.

Then they did not like the pay firs.

Then they got second package cut in half throwing out very popular programs and now, after getting EVERY FUCK8NG concession demanded he is again taking a shit in the punch bowl.
 
There is no both sides to this.

There is the Democratic Party and then there are Sinema/Manchin plus every Republican.

They are eventually gonna pass this shit and it will be fucking huge and historic.

By the time the midterms come around most people affected by the legislation will be eating the sausage and will not give one fuck about how it was made contrary to Beltway Conventional Wisdom.

However it Manchin and Sinema wont allow voting rights past the filibuster it will all be moot anyway.

Manchin is taking the few days for the House to pass its legislative language to crank his money machine before voting yes on both bills.

The trick is to make him one of 55 or 56 Democratic votes in the Senate next cycle. Then his concerns will carry more appropriate weight.

If we audited races republicans claimed to have won this would most likely be the case today.

Sadly a lot of people today do not know what a real Republican is. They do not know that Lincoln was a Republican, or that Reagan helped the actors to get Healthcare and Retirement, or that Reagan made all of our immigrants legal so that they could join labor unions and so that they could call the police in the case of an emergency, they do not know that George W. Bush loves the Mexicans and that Jeb Bush met his Mexican wife while building a Christian orphanage in Mexico. People today should realize that Trump is not a real Republican.

A real Republican would make the immigrants legal and would lay the framework within which people could create jobs for everyone and prosper. Low taxes and high tariffs would be great right now. And George W. Bush wanted to bring everyone together from the top of Alaska to the bottom of Chile.

Building a wall is not a thing that a Republican would do. Republicans tear down walls. Republicans would invest in Mexican ports and would be doing trade with Latin America.

(a) It is not that they don't know, it's that they don't care.

(b) If the majority of the registered members of a party are adherents of a specific leader of that party, then that leader IS a "real" member of the party.

Donald Trump is a real Republican today, even if he would not have been with Dwight David Eisenhower's GOP.

It is you who is no longer a real Republican.
