Dems:  "We cannot let Republicans become the party of parents"

Discuss.

Democrats traditional strong suit has been supporting the working class family that  struggles to pay the costs of children: childcare,  healthcare, education,  housing,  etc.   If people do know what Bidens whole platform is about, and his ambitious legislative agenda,  then there is a severe failure of news media to present that information.  Plus maybe some deeply destructive propaganda from the opposition that is more concerned about its power than what is good for parents.

Refusal to promote the nuclear family - and acceptance of its destruction - also very DEMOCRAT

Republican refusal to accept fair labor standards combined with republican xenophobia nukes the family. Everyone knows this.

You embody the attitude of the current  democrat party, elitists so out of touch with those issues it turns them all into modern day Marie Antoinettes....

Marie wanted me to remind you that Biden, despite having only 50 Democratic votes in the Senate, passed in his first year a 1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan including a major increase in the child tax credit that reduced child poverty by half.   Think that might be good for working parents?

Marie also mentioned that the economy under Biden has created nearly 5 million new jobs, reduced unemployment to 4.8 percent.  And despite the right wing effort to spread deadly disinformation about vaccinations, 80 percent of American adults  including 98 percent of those older than 65 have had a least one coronavirus vaccination. Among those age 12 and older, 78 percent have had at least one shot.

And Marie would remind KIDCARTER that reducing poverty is somewhat important to those nuclear families he professes to care about more than Democrats.  And so is reliable childcare that is affordable,  and housing that is affordable,  both policies that Biden pushes strongly.  Kid,  better tell your GOP brethren to stop obstructing on that, since they care about nuclear family preservation so much.

You would think.   Learning disabilities are rampant in the grand old party.

To be republican these days is to somehow, by self harm or harm caused by others, be rendered already incapable of knowing.

So...that's a new one.

Destruction of families important to you, right?

So, that whole separation thing at the border that Trump did must have really pissed you off, didn't it?

And that "Fuck Joe Biden!" chant at NASCAR, which is now referred to as "Let's Go, Brandon!" and sold on t-shirts, coffee mugs, and other merch to raise money for the GOP---does that represent the family values you don't wish to see destroyed?

And that whole family thing of underfunding and defunding schools and pre-K programs that the GOP does isn't consistent with family preservation, either, is it?

I mean, c'mon, Kid.

I'd like to take a moment to salute a great American who, actually was Canadian, but still...Mort Sahl passed away this week, but he left us with  gems like these.

Liberals feel unworthy of their possessions. Conservatives feel they deserve everything they've stolen.

A conservative is someone who believes in reform. But not now.

Washington couldn't tell a lie, Nixon couldn't tell the truth, and Reagan couldn't tell the difference.

You know what I want you to do? I want you to blow out the candle and curse the darkness.

RIP, Mr. Sahl.

You must enjoy pissing into the wind despite increased laundry costs.
6 out of every 10 people in the polls thinks the economy has gotten worse under the Brandon Administration and a dysfunctional Congress controlled by the democrats.
The First relief bill was a slam dunk and much more responsible in 2020.
The democrat cluster fuck version this year was wasteful and downright destructive for working Americans.

Dem talking heads CRUSHING McCauliffe - to protect Biden.

Discuss.

Because he was a Third Way retread who won his race in 2013 by the skin of his teeth. He was the wrong candidate for this cycle.

However, he did not lose the election Youngkin beat him.

The Dems lost a chance of a HUGE upset when Lt Gov Justin Fairfax (heir apparent to run for Governor- local superstar) was accused of sexual assault at the crescendo of #MeToo.

Gayle King then had both accusers on national tv for intense interviews and Northam and Herring (Atty General)  had photos of them in blackface released.

McAuliffe called on Fairfax to resign.

McAuliffe called on Northam to resign.

Northam did the SMART THING. Since VA Governors only get one term most see it as an opportunity to go to the next level. Northam knew that ambition was gone with the wind so he went BIG and along with slim majorities created historic legislation.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/14/us/politics/ralph-northam-virginia.html

During the primary, Fairfax (for no good reason) ran for the big office and during a debate he said Terry had treated him like Emmitt Till.

He sure had a large coalition of excited and motivated voters, huh?

And he still came damn close
