I dedicate this song to the Democratic Party's Progressive wing, their understanding of political reality, and their skill at getting legislation passed.

Thanks, Neil Young, progressive immigrant, and citizen of the USA!

The Dem party is dysfunctional because the various factions are acting in very narrowly defined arcs of perceived self interest and not looking for areas where they can agree.

Two ironies there.   One,  bringing home the big legislation is in even the most narrowly defined self-interest of getting reelected.  And two,  the modern Democratic Party has one of its most basic motifs as people working together and transcending factional differences.   It is dismal to behold.  If we cannot get an LBJ to yank up Joe Mansion by his beagle ears,  then someone just give the man a coal-powered spaceport just outside Charleston.
Remember Barton claims to be an independent thinker.
But woe to any democrat who strays from the progressive party line.
Those people must be attacked at the ears and punished.
People like LBJ excoriated Barry Goldwater when he said
Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice, moderation in pursuit of Justice is no virture.
Now Barton turns that phrase on its head to push leftist totalitarianism.
And he actually believes it.

Fortunately the democrat  grip on the Brandon Administration is so rudderless and weak it is sinking to hell under its own weight.

Wow.  The beagle ears was a joke about Democratic disarray,  not a suggestion.   I forget you do not get humor.

https://www.investors.com/news/economy/jobs-report-october-2021-unemployment-rate-wage-growth-dow-jones/

Unemployment is almost back to where it was in March 2020, at the start of the pandemic's impact on our country. It's just 1.1% above at its low from Feb 2020 and Sept 2019.

Will the employment recovery continue, do you think? Will we reach or even surpass the record lows from the Trump years?

What is being taught in our schools about slavery? Here's one example, from Virginia:

I assume Josh's example of what is taught in schools about slavery was an example from decades ago ('50s, 60s or 70s) rather than current day Virginia. But as there was no link or context it was hard to tell.

Perhaps like Hollywood putting disclaimers on certain historical fiction, (GWtW) Virginia history books should carry a disclaimer to the fiction they portray.

Just a thought.

You must enjoy pissing into the wind despite increased laundry costs.
6 out of every 10 people in the polls thinks the economy has gotten worse under the Brandon Administration and a dysfunctional Congress controlled by the democrats.

When you cant argue on facts,  argue on polls!
Polls are facts.
So are elections.
So are the job numbers and the DJA. And so.were.the 2018 and 2020 elections which you always ignore.

Red has a almost no funny bone, but he does enjoy a good pie fight, particularly if its a dem getting creamed by one of their own.

IS being taught in Virginia.

Not in very many schools, anymore, as the books wear out and get replaced. The pics are from a 1960s book.

But we have had far more recent (within the last decade) examples of US history texts referring to the immigration of slaves from Africa to work in the US and children's books about happy slaves working in the White House. Not just in Virginia.

I believe the Watergate trials pretty well established that the sitting president, not the former president, gets to determine what is or is not held back by executive privilege. This explicitly includes communications to and from White House Counsel, as that lawyer works for us, not for the person occupying the office.

Further, President Trump exercised his power to make decisions about prior administration records quite freely and wants to have it both ways. His power when he is in office, his power when he is out of office.

Knowing what happened, as fully as possible, is important. And the very reticence over letting the records be seen suggests there is something there to be found.

Knew that last year as the GOP took it and ran with it in the context Black people are scary and they will come get you!

This year the scary Black people frame was Critical Race Theory.

Sinema does have a personal connection to the industry: Her own mother was a direct seller. But the bigger incentive for multilevel marketers to give to Sinema appears to be her position on labor organizing.

The companies face an existential threat from the pro-union Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, which would make it more difficult to classify workers as independent contractors. According to one industry source, the bill has become the driving issue since Democrats took control of the White House and both chambers of Congress. And Sinema is one of if not the only, Democratic allies in the Senate.
