How the Squad abandoned their party and their POTUS:

Representative Pramila Jayapal, the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, stated that members of her caucus and other Democrats had reached an agreement to advance both pieces of President Biden's legislative agenda.

Our colleagues have committed to voting for the transformative Build Back Better Act, as currently written, no later than the week of November 15. All our colleagues have also committed to voting tonight on the rule to move the Build Back Better Act forward to codify this promise,
she added.

But the agreement wasn't enough to convince some progressive members. Therefore, Democrats had to rely on Republicans who backed the infrastructure package to get it over the finish line. Thirteen House GOP lawmakers voted in favor of the bill.

It's never enough. If they were honest they would just say, "GIVE US YOUR MONEY. ALL OF IT. YOU EARNED IT, BUT IT BELONGS TO US."

Fuck the Squad. We don't need revolutionaries in the party. We need people who understand and will work for the working class. They don't. They work for themselves.

https://www.newsweek.com/squad-unfazed-election-rout-forces-biden-rely-gop-infrastructure-votes-1646680

You know Boss Pelosi went to the floor knowing exactly what she had.

The Squad had her permission  to cast the protest vote. There is no way Jayapal would let vote fail.

After all, the Progressives are the ones going to the mat for the Biden agenda.

According to the NY Times article, I'll see if I can find it later, Pelosi was tracking Progressive no votes and their were 35 and they eventually came down to 6 (the Squad) Pelosii thought, but did not know, how many Repubs would support the bill.  She thought she had 8 votes (she ended with 13). It was stated that she thought she could get 2 of the 6 Squad to support the bill, but if the Repubs had held solid, and that was beyond Pelosi's powers of persuasion or prediction, the bill would have been defeated.

The Squad or at least 4/6 of the Squad didn't give a fuck about Biden's bill because they didn't get candy canes in their stockings.

the 13 Repubs saved the bill.

Whitesplain!

The important thing is that Banks reads the numbers, and when it is confirmed by the CBO, that he and the other Manchinemas of the nation admit what a Big Big Big fiscally conservative tangible boost to comfort, optimism, and progress not to mention the economy and our national and individual balance sheet this gone big bill is and they all support it fully as it is popular, scientific, sensible, conservative, godly, and upholds the bargain struck with the progressive wing and all Americans who hope to live longer than the next twenty years that moved their also popular, scientific, and sensible infrastructure bill to the desk of President Joe Biden without first sending him the even more vital BBB.

Bullshit.

Circular logic tossed in a word salad.

And word salad is my word for Fac's excessive verbiage!

but with some balsamic dressing and croutons its quite filling.

Is that what happened to The Who in Cincinatti and the Rolling Stones at Altimont?

Did The Stones and The Who encourage non ticket holders to storm in anyway and for fans to ignore barricades?

Well, everyone gets ONE vote.

Just one in this one, as far as I know

You don't really know what you're talking about, kid, when it comes to what happens in Gloucester County.

Nope

Larry I'm not cheering for anyone.

I asked Fac to support his post with #s.

And its a matter of how we allocate resources and who benefits and who pays.

there is no free lunch.
. BINGO!!!!

To say BBB is not a matter of spending, is idiotic and sophomoric on its face.

at first the price tag was $7T now its $1.8T and stuff got cut because it was deemed too expensive and the resources or votes weren't there.

I'm sorry you didn't understand the process and you now seem very angry.

The stupid and angry black man.

Why do I expect more from you?

Race card in play, now.

The default mechanism when Larry OR one of his compadres is asked to put up something to support his opinion.

HeH
banks tried to whitesplain the political process to Larry and got called on it. That you would jump in on the issue that had nothing to do with you is the least surprising thing to happen today, including that I am a day older than I was yesterday.

No boz, what I did, and have done for 17+ months was to explain my take on a sensible agenda for Biden in his first two years in office to get him popular wins for Dems to run on in '22.

The first of these posts were in June 2020, about 5 months before the election.

and it was basically

-heal from covid

-get back to work and school

-jump start the economy to get it going again

-and promote an infrastructure bill

because eveyone likes money and security and March 2020 until June 2020 life was miserable.

The 2nd issue was that going from $7T in infrastructure plans downsized to $6T $4.5, $3.5T and now $1.8T was not in line with Larry's screaming GO BIG for 17 months.

Larry misread the table and he was wrong.

Dems were downsizing to where they could get something done and to where there was sufficient political support.

And as far as I know, color or race has little to do with Larry not understanding math or that policies are different that politics.

But for reasons unknown, Larry played the race card, as he has in the past.

I hope that helps.

Whitesplaining math?

Really?

LMAO

It is not math it is misreading the environment.

I said in June during the environment of a mass movement that the times called for a big agenda.

Yeah, you laughed at me then.

Then Biden won and he did not win or lose the Senate majority.

When the base went out and delivered two Senators for the majority I reiterated my position and you again laughed at me.

Biden announced his agenda and I said he went big beyond my wildest pipe dream by letting Bernie put up 6T.

Manchin and Sinema cock blocked the bill with competing interests and also went after the pay fors efforts.

So there are a couple of assholes who feel the same as you.

Does not change the fact his proposals were historic.

Fac I am not a Manchinista. I'm pragmatic and wanted to see a smart plan to help Dems fight the Repubs in '22. IMO Dems were overplaying their hand, and assumed a mandate that was not there. And as we know they have the slimmest of margins that they may have pissed away. And I've been consistent in that message for a year and a half.

I also talked about Biden consolidating his political wins int '22 momentum and more aggressive social and political initatives and told our mutual friend Larry, if Biden was smart he could build a coaltion and beocme a latter day FDR with his own New Deal. It just wasn't going to happen in his first two years.

I fear the Repubs regaining power in '22 and the Dems being in disarray in '24. I fear for democracy and IMO Dems overplaying their  hand plays into the Repubs strategy.

Now the Dems have to market the shit out of the BIF and hopefully the BBB.

They still have time swing the pendulum and regain momentum.

was that whitesplaining too?

Keeping up with the overly woke is hard work

LMAO

No clue, dude.

You are dope splain8ng.

You act as if the political atmosphere is business as usual while the GOP literally tried to overthrow the government.

I guess a white nationalist autocracy is ok by you.

Banks thinks he is being pragmatic by rooting for the bad guys.

Larry I am pragmatic, but I won't sell my soul.

But there is a reason for the old saying, "politics makes strange bedfellows".

And Larry I've listened to your perspective, and I understand it, and in many cases I agree with you and your goals.

However I found the environment hostile to its immediate fruition.

Biden is President because black and brown people put him through the primary and then took two seats in Georgia...

And all moderates do is tell the BASE of this fucking party to be quiet, white folks talking.

And then when shit goes south electorally the first thing you will say is well, the black turnout was low.

In this era you are either going to split or lose the white vote no matter what so why do you keep spitting on the folks who have been giving you 90 plus? instead of watching the GOP make it harder for them to vote why are you not protecting their rights and access?

Joe Biden promised to reach across the aisle and work in a bipartisan fashion and the Republicans tried to overturn the election and failing that tried to overthrow the government.

YMMV

The BASE stayed home in NJ and VA. Guess they thought those races didn't matter. Now, they'll be shitting themselves and blaming MoJoe Manchin or Miss Sinematic ain't gonna change the fact that the BASE took a vacation when they should have kept up the good work.

Those are indeed FACTS. Now, if you think the BASE is brown and black and white folks are either blue dog Dems or GOPers, as it seems you do, then the turnout being low among black and brown folks DOES matter, and it ain't bias or prejudicial to point that out.

You can't have it both ways, Larry. You can't say minorities won for the DEMS because they showed up at the polls, and then when they don't show say that it's not their fault.

There are other factors at work in all of these races/votes/elections, but if white folks are evil and non-whites are saviors, then the saviors can't be taking holidays.

Blah blah blah

You take our vote for granted while white folks split theirs and the other side is actively seeking to overturn this Madisonian democracy.

I don't take anything for granted, other than politicians will lie, taxes will have to be paid by someone, and we will all die.

I do know, however, that the American people are impatient, lazy, disinclined to support their opinions with facts, and obsessed with money.

In politics, as in most things in the USA, follow the money.

Always.

The Squad and Manchin and Sinema and Gottlieb and your friends in Georgia are getting their money from somewhere, or they'd be more responsible.

That false equivalence makes no sense whatsoever.

Well, everyone gets ONE vote.

Just one in this one, as far as I know

So when a pro fascist bigot gets elected its hurray democracy.

When a progressive moderate with a half century of public service is elected its hmm those ballot counts look pretty suspicious.

Got it.
