Partisanship is not good. However, partisanship itself is a very minor issue compared to amoral corruption. Amoral corruption effects both sides, but it is so prevalent and concentrated on the the right wing republican evangelical white nationalist side that all attempts at whataboutism and false equivalence are both ridiculous and impossible. Amoral corruption defines the right all the way through to its most mainstream and minor characters much more than the left because the left has not entirely given up on self policing to line up behind power only for the sake of grasping more power by blindly and blithely lying and bullying to get there. The republican party has. The republican party has followed a growth strategy based on paranoia and abuse. Now they are ready to burn books in Virginia, locked and loaded, and rally around people who all the time are caught stealing their money to help these misleaders vomit their next round of crime. There is no modern equivalent in the political sphere to this republican record. It is a sucking chest wound in our national past, present, and future. This is a partisan statement from a moment when the differences between the sides could not be more clear. As a side note, the current negotiations in Congress are showing that you can have the full range of ideological debate resulting in only the most pared down and conservative options advancing entirely within the Democratic Party getting and needing nothing at all from republicans who are too busy replotting their treason to offer anything to the American people at all.
