Welp...

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/parents-suspected-michigan-high-school-shooter-are-charged-involuntary-rcna7479

From a wapo report..thought this fellow put it well...

As gun owners, we have a responsibility that when we acquire firearms we dont put our neighbors, and in particular their children, at risk, Chipman said. If a parent provided their car to an unlicensed teen for a night of drunken joy riding, no one would be shocked if a prosecutor sought to hold the adults accountable.

Allegedly, this is a "progressive town" in NJ: https://www.montclairlocal.news/2021/12/01/montclair-township-attorney-resigns-apologizes-for-calling-black-official-three-fifths-of-a-human/

Well, he did not call him a chimp, so there is that.

You earned that. He maybe earned worse than the got, too, but you'd have to ask someone from the town.

Hear that, Larry?  If Hamster insults you with a racist epithet, YOU EARNED IT!!

What did I earn?  I want to earn something, too!  This is not fair...

What do yall think of DeSantis wanting to create his own military force?  The press release seems to follow closely after the Biden admin exerted some pressure on national guard to vaccinate.   Probably just a coincidence...
Civilian military forces already exist in 22 states, including California, Texas, and New York.
The states are empowered by the US Constitution with the primary responsibility of protecting its citizens.

Know all that.  State militias are permitted by the Compact Clause.

Do you believe that is really why DeSantis (who so conspicuously declined to protect his states citizens from a pandemic virus) wants to do this?
Or could it be because the feds just announced they are going to sanction National Guard members who refuse to vaccinate?  IOW, could this be a political stunt to poke a finger in Biden's eye and rally his base?
Glad you did a quick google search on state militias.
Now you should research DeSantis and his handling of the pandemic in Florida.
He has no apparent need to rally his base.

Well, no - just to run his state

If President Biden is taking away some of teh Florida guardsmen, DeSantis is simply replacing the manpower.  That they would be under greater control is a bonus.

Incorrect. Biden is taking away no one.  Just requiring Guardsmen who rescue babies and old folks and and so on, to meet the obvious public safety requirements and be vaccinated.  Many jobs of public service require this.  In this case, the value is obvious.  Hauling a vulnerable person from a flooded building or other disaster involves close contact.

Which leaves political stunt as the most probable explanation.

Everyone would agree that the stars need armed body guards, protection is essential for the stars. And I helped to protect Suzanne Pleshette, I stood outside her door for a year. The stars need protection.

And when I lived in Malibu my roommates were happy that I owned a gun, and they said that I made them feel safe. There were two children in the house, one girl was 8 years old, and one girl was 15 years old. Also, one of my roommates was the daughter of a general in China. The lady who owned the house was the ex-wife of a doctor in Malibu who was a doctor to the stars. They had a free armed body guard, I protected all of them for free.

Guns are essential for our protection, and if the good guys have guns then it makes the good people feel safe. All of the stars feel safer if they have an armed body guard.

Salute,

Tony V.

Morgue trucks, red tides, apartment building collapses. He should try running his state or he should resign. There is no bigger mess than Florida under Rabid Rat Ronnie.

You might want to pay attention to Oklahoma and their  lawsuit against the Biden vaccine mandates for the National Guard.
Guard members are paid with Federal Funds but are controlled by the State.
In his lawsuit Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt argues he serves as commander in chief of the Oklahoma National Guard unless they are deployed by the President which takes a mechanism that is usually reserved for missions abroad.
Therefore, unless mobilized by the President of the United States under U.S. Code Title 10, I retain the authority for all training and governance of the Oklahoma National Guard , including determining if and how training guidelines issued by the president will be implemented.

So far Biden has not fared well when trying to work around the Constitution.
