Optimistic. I like the parallels. Though I think the real good news is how redistricting is not going to be the Red Wave generator some were thinking a while back.
Nobody predicted a red wave generator.
And redistricting has nothing to do with voter moods of the present. (See Virginia for example in 2021)
Nor can redistricting replace the wave of democrat retirements now exceeding 20 in the House.
Nor can redistricting mask the problems of a party at war with itself.
