One of the most powerful moments in my preteen life was when he delivered this line:

They call me MISTER Tibbs!

Yep, 1967 was an Annus Mirabilis for him.  And us.  And when Poitier slaps back the guy in Heat of the Night, that was not in the script.  A physical ad lib, so to speak.  Awesome in both ancient and modern sense.

Anyway, RIP to Sir, with love.

Oh, look, Ward tried to project!  That's cute.

I am waiting for a booster

And you can now politely tell me ...or not... why I must wait.

Is it just that they dont want folks "jumping the line"?
Six months is for medical reasons.

It's actually somewhat arbitrary.  Immune response to a new variant is unpredictable and earlier boosters are being recommend in some countries.  The six months was based on some guesses as to how long the First Two would prevent serious illness.  If stemming spread is desired, then an earlier booster may be best where a new variant is in play.

But yes, it was an interval based on medical factors and not supply issues, in this country.

2022 is the year in which Soylent Green takes place.

In its honor, I bring you this news from CNN:

(Make Room, Make Room took place in 1999. Much less realistic!)

Haha!   Good catch.

Trump's lies from yesterday:
https://twitter.com/realLizUSA/status/1479105275818774529

If Bidenis not in a coma, then I assume he is dispensing lies.  The real problem is the way he is making character assassination and gross slander normative.
Fixed it.

No. You fucked yourself and showed the depths of your diseased confusion.

Turn in your drivers license and please cut off your fucking hand.

Arnold has had a great life, he came to America as an immigrant with nothing, in 1968 he came to Venice, California, and he went on to become the highest paid actor in Hollywood, and he was Governor of California, and he married a Kennedy, Arnold has a very inspiring story.

https://actingandactors.com/blog/2018/11/25/how-did-arnold-schwarzenegger-get-to-the-usa/

Instead of Vice President Harris telling the immigrants not to come, we need to send Arnold to talk with the immigrants on our Southern Border, Arnold will turn all of our new immigrants into successful leaders.

Salute,

Reagan said that you can do great things as long as you do not care who gets the credit.

I have been that way all of my life.

And when I send an idea to the President of Mexico, or to the President of the Philippines, or to the King of Spain, or to Richard Branson, or to whoever, I am just trying to help to make the world a better place, I do not care who gets the credit.

Salute,

Tony V.

School Closures and Their Deleterious Effects on Students

I thought this would be of interest, though the closing comment of the paper notes that the advice against repeating school closures is not necessarily valid in the case of other viruses and variants that represent greater risks to children.

As people go to community college then they will need money to continue on to get their Masters, so after the people get their Associates degree then they need to be able to have ways to pay to go to college to continue their educations. One way that people can serve the people in order to earn money for college would be the Peace Corps. You should be able to serve for 2 years in the Peace Corps to pay for college after you get your AA degree.

When it comes to jobs, I would rather manage a restaurant than drive a truck. And you can make $160,000 per year for managing an In N Out Burger in California.

https://www.inc.com/bill-murphy-jr/managers-at-in-n-out-burger-make-160000-a-year-heres-how-it-works.html

I had a choice when I lived in Battle Mountain, Nevada, to work at the casino, or to be a truck driver, and I picked the job at the casino, and I was a cook at the casino for 2 years. I learned how to run a casino. I could easily own and run my own night club in Rome, Italy, someday.

For educated people it seems like people would want the management jobs, and the entrepreneurial jobs.

For driving a truck you do not need an education, and you do not need to be able to speak English, we can pay the Mexicans $100,000 per year to drive a truck and they will be very happy, the Mexicans have big families and they need to be paid good money.  The Mexicans can all join the Teamsters.

But, for the educated people, I would rather manage a restaurant, and learn how to own my own night club.

Salute,

Tony V.

Can we interpret the intent of this piece? Is it to label a group as being somewhat disfunctional? or what?

$375/month (Peace Corps stipend) is not enough to pay for the last 3 years of college very easily, even when it is not given until the end of serving.

Justice Sotomayor today, apparently ready to defend Biden Vaccine mandates, stated there are 100,000 children hospitalized MANY on ventilators from Covid !

I was opposed to SCOTUS term limits. Not any more. The term for Sotomayor should end tonight.
