Is Queens as bad as it's portrayed in movies?
I think that the wizened bitch gets treated with too much sympathy for someone who should be hauled from the palace to the guillotine in a tumbril. But why do you call her an "it"?

It should be obvious by now that SCOTUS is
spinning its wheels mulling over the legality of Mandated Covid Vaccines which were issued thE first week of November.

Omicron has changed the landscape since fully vaccinated people( boosters and all) are being infected.
That makes 3 month old Mandate obsolete.  The CDC estimates that, since January first, 95 per cent of the infections are traced to the Omicron strain.
The CDC release said because  some of the Omicron 50 mutations are known to evade antibody protection, because more than 30 of those mutations are to the spike protein used as an immunogen by the existing vaccines, and because there have been mass Omicron outbreaks in heavily vaccinated populations, scientists are highly uncertain the existing vaccines can stop it from spreading,  we do not yet know . . . how well available vaccines and medications work against it.

Ward has stopped spewing his lies about drugs and is instead changing to WSJ bogus propaganda against vaccinations.

It is true that "The CDC estimates that, since January first, 95 per cent of the infections are traced to the Omicron strain."
End of debate.
Since the vaccinated  are getting infected the November mandates are obsolete.
The question of their constitutionality can still be debated. But for what?

No.

Since the vaccinated are getting infected at vastly lower rates and being hospitalized at even lower rates, the mandates still have a huge amount of utility.

Had those who were not vaccinated been vaccinated, our hospitals would not be overflowing.

You act like the only choices are infected or not and that there is no difference between the two.

It is an absurd position for anybody to take.

We don't know if there are long term implications from Omicron yet, but we do know that the more folks who get it the greater the chance that it will mutate further.

Why do you try to reason with this fool?

RED would not recognize a fact if it bit him on his ass.

Not even slightly.

Depends on where in Queens. It is a large diverse place with all sorts of exceptional nooks and crannies. It has also been on the upswing for several decades generally.

I left NY 30 years ago but I bet the restaurants along the #7 line are still fantastic.

News Item

The seven-day average for newly reported cases in the U.S. topped 700,000 for the first time, data from Johns Hopkins University show, as the highly infectious Omicron variant spreads throughout the country.

Poster child of Dunning Krueger.  And there are millions out there who have zero understanding of how vaccines function, and like to wallow in their ignorance.  Especially when dimwit clowns like Joe Rogan tell them it's wisdom.

Emphasis added. More reasons why we want more people more protected.

Nobody disagrees

It is still personal choice

Is what it is

If Biden wants to work hard at something productive  , doing a better job convincing folks to get vaccinated or delegating this to someone real good at it  might be advisable.  Reason enough to  replace Dr  Fauci as top talking head outside Rachel.  A Republican voice sure makes a ton of sense.

Republicans should step up and do so without being asked. Republicans should tell their constituents to get vaccinated and stop fighting mask mandates... but that would require the GOP to behave like patriots and 1/6/2021 showed them motherfuckers to be anything but.

If it was not for Manchinema the GOP would be dead in the water and the future of the country would be bright.

I think he was referring to the liberties taken in the film "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Conservative women trailblazers have been mocked and maligned by the liberal press for years  .  You learn to deal with it and not make excuses. When Vice President Kamala Harris took office, she knew she was charting a new path and would have to prove herself at every step along the way. She could have used her platform to protect the women and girls in Afghanistan, secure the southern border, or reduce crime in our cities. Instead, she tossed aside the historic opportunity she had been given to criticize the tough media environment conservative women have been successfully navigating for decades.

Bartlett reaching out to  Vinnick.  A great moment.  And perfect example of what Joe would never do.

Vinnick did not belong to a party that that tried violently overturn the free and fair election nor overthrow the government in the process.

Vinnick belonged to a party that reaffirmed the Voting Rights Act. These Republican belly crawlers are doing their worst to deny Americans voting access.

Fuck these Republicans.
