And?

Choices have consequences.

Better to decrease the surplus population of idiots in the world.

Your consideration for those who suffer the consequences without having had a voice in the decision-making, as always, is striking.

Miss the point much?

Free will.

His choice.

Choices have consequences.

Somebody missed the point, Ham, but it wasn't me.

His CHILDREN had no say. They may no choice. But THEY face the consequences.

They'll be better off without the influence of this moron. He probably made the best choice for them.

The down side of the affair is that he did past those defective genes along.

The tragedy is this patrolman's mind was never free.  Social media is brain poison for a lot of people, including some of Elba's members.  Nothing short of deprogramming would have pulled this guy from his Cult of Unreason.

Oh? A cult? So it was a Heaven's Gate type of thing?

You make a lot of assumptions as to the maliability of people's minds. Face it. Some people just aren't very smart and they make poor, sometimes fatal decisions. Like taking a selfie on the edge of the Grand Canyon on a windy day. Whoops. So, was it social media that did that? Or was it the results of poor decision-making?

I'd say the "Cult of Unreason" is perhaps a way to characterize the GOP, though. So keep that term. Just apply it more accurately.

We need to make our immigrants legal, like Reagan did.

We need for workers to be able to earn enough money to buy a home and raise a family from working the construction trades, etc.

In the 1950s a man hanging dry wall could buy a home and a car and he could support a family, but now we have illegal immigrants doing the work for $10 per hour cash under the table and the immigrants live in a one bedroom apartment with 10 people living there, and no one can make a living.

We need to make our immigrants legal so that they can join labor unions, and so that they can call the police in the case of an emergency, etc. And all of our workers, including established citizens as well as new immigrants need to be able to earn enough money from honest work to be able to buy a home and raise a family.

Salute,

Tony V.

Seems to me you need to seal the Mexican border, stop illegal immigration, stop people smugglers, and introduce a legal guest worker program, with a pathway to citizenship if America needs more immigrants.
What America doesn't need ...more drug dealers, organised crime figures, rapists, murderers, unlicensed drivers killing Americans on the roads etc just waltzing in over the porous border.

I live down here by the border with Mexico, Mexico is only 100 miles away, and I love the Mexicans. In New York they love Canada, and in California we love Mexico. We do not need any walls, and these people are our Brothers. We need to treat them like Brothers. We need to make our immigrants legal, plus we need a new Good Neighbor policy, plus we need to invest in the ports in Mexico, and we need to welcome the Mexican truck drivers. We also need workers for our vineyards, and for our orange groves, and for our strawberry fields, etc. And we need for the Mexicans to be able to join the unions, they need to be able to join the Teamsters, and the Construction Unions, and the United Farm Workers, etc. We need for all of our people to be protected by the law, and all men are created equal.

We love the Mexicans here in California.

Salute,

Tony V.

Why don't you move to Mexico? Then you can play immigrant, too.

I'm sure they'd love to have you, legally or illegally.

My Grandmother opened Gold mines in Mexico, and she helped to bring running water, electricity, telephones, paved roads, etc, to some very poor parts of Mexico, and they treated her like a Queen. They used to throw parties in her honor.

I went to Mexico as a teen with Youth For Christ, and it changed my life. I was helping desperate people, but at the same time they helped me because I saw what true poverty looks like, and I was so grateful to be an American. As we rise we need to remember to help the poor and the needy and the orphans, and it is good for our souls when we help other people and we store up our treasure in Heaven.

By the way, the immigrants can work with Habitat For Humanity to learn how to build housing, and then they can join a union if they want to and they can work in the construction industry. We have a huge homelessness problem and we need to build a lot of housing.

Salute,

Tony V.

People don't immigrate here to do charity for others.

Hi, I'm Chris Christie and I'm running for President.

January 6 was a riot that was incited by Donald Trump in an effort to intimidate Mike Pence and the Congress into doing exactly what he said in his own words last week: overturn the election. He wanted the election to be overturned.

The Ralph Kramden of the GOP throws off his Trump Chains.

Illinois Judge Blocks State School Mask Mandates

Sangamon County Circuit Court Judge Raylene Grischow ruled the mandate was null and void in response to a lawsuit by hundreds of parents from more than 145 school districts, NBC Chicago reported.

Statutory rights have attempted to be bypassed through the issuance of executive orders and emergency rules,Judge Grischow said in her order. This type of evil is exactly what the law was intended to constrain.

Social media create information silos that foster cultish thinking because there are no reality checks.   People make poor decisions because they are in the silo, not just because of stupidity.  GIGO, as the IT folk say.   Minds can be malleable even when they're not stupid -- plenty of people just don't find themselves among intellectuals who question all their information feeds and so they never have time or space to reflect on that.  Which means a cult of unreason can overthrow their common sense.  Social media AMPLIFY the GOP cult of unreason.

Honking in bambuworld has been banned for many years.
Shiftworkers trying to sleep.
Upsets the peace and quiet of suburbia...noise pollution in city centres.
Startles the elderly, the very young, ...and well, everyone really.

Just imagine what The Guardian would have written about Nathan Hale, Ethan Allen, Abraham Woodhull or other American Revolutionaries.

Well, it was founded in Manchester, England in the early 1800s, so that might give you a clue.  As for comparing the tinfoil hat brigade to American revolutionaries, that's stupid even for you.
