A judge on Monday said he will dismiss Sarah Palin s libel case against the New York Times, saying she had not met the legal standard showing that the newspaper acted with (actual malice) in publishing a 2017 editorial that included an inaccurate claim about her.

Judge Jed S. Rakoff told the lawyers involved in the case that he will formally issue his ruling after a jury that has been deliberating since Friday returns its decision.

Though the Times genuinely goofed (and quickly retracted), this seems like good news for a free press that isn't constantly besieged by suits from powerful people who don't like what's said about them.

Huh, Ukrainians were big supporters of the NAZIs and antisemitism. Still are.

And your point is?

It is to our advantage to not have the Russians overrun Ukraine.

Better to have Russia control the Ukraine rather than have it controlled by neo-NAZIs.

a) That they are present does not mean they are in charge.
Another Josh bit of misinformation.
2014 the democratically elected Ukrainian government was overthrown in a coup, the deposed leader convicted of treason, and, subsequently, the new government shut down opposition party banks, cracked down on speech, stopped social media it disagreed with , in effect trampling any signs of democracy.
Why the US thinks it has to expend money or human capital in defense of thugs like the current corrupt Ukrainian
leaders defies common sense.

NATO needs a reason to exist now that Russian Communism no longer is in power.  The cold war, the gift that never stops giving!

What NFL genius came up with the idea to give  away 75,000 Covid face masks to Super Bowl fans in Hollywood expecting those elitists to actually put them on?

You mean the coup where a corrupt kleptocrat and Russian puppet was, by vote of the Ukraine parliament, removed from office?  The puppet who was replaced by a new president elected by a landslide?  The coup where political prisoners like pro-democracy reformer Yulia Timoshenko were released?  The coup that ousted a mass murdering administration that killed many peaceful protesters, and convicted those responsible?

The rest of your post is complete bullshit, the sort of Russian propaganda that clarifies now and for all time your forum moniker "Red State."

Incredible.  Whatever shred of credibility you had here is gone.  Thanks for exposing yourself!  Now go back to suckling at Vlad's man-tits.

There is a global fascist movement determined to sow chaos and disruption and the guy at the top is Vladimir Putin.

Right now is still a time to make peace.

Putin is not Hitler and he is not killing Jews and invading Poland and France, etc. And Putin is not Stalin, building the Berlin Wall, etc. I do not even think that Putin is as bad as Fidel Castro.

I think Putin is who he is from the time and place where he was born and raised. The Russians were taught by Stalin, etc, to hate Americans. And then we had the whole Cold War. That had an effect on Putin, that made Putin who he is. So, that is what we are dealing with.

It is a new world, and Putin is still stuck in the old world. We need to peacefully bring Putin into the new world.

Today the world wants peace and prosperity, we want stability and world trade.

Putin has some friends in Europe, he got along good with Silvio Berlusconi, Silvio is old now, he is 85, but maybe Silvio Berlusconi can talk some sense into Putin. Putin was also friends with King Juan Carlos of Spain, maybe he can talk some sense into Putin, Juan Carlos is 84, hopefully his brain is still sharp and maybe he can help.

We want peace, and we want money, and we want a good life style. People do not want war.

We can even send the Russians pot from the Philippines.

If it was Hitler, then I would want war, and I would be looking for ways to defeat Hitler, but Putin is NOT Hitler. And on the issue of Hitler, we have the CIA now so we have all of the information so that we can save lives and catch problems while they are small. And we have the United Nations.

Putin is just an old school KGB guy with his head all full of bullshit, we need to peacefully bring Putin into the modern world.

And we did improve relations since the fall of the USSR, and since the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 1991 Pantera played in Moscow, along with other bands. The young people in Russia all like American Rock and Roll. The young people in Russia love the USA and that is where our strength is. We need to get the young people to march for peace, and to protest for peace. And in a perfect world we could have a huge Bon Jovi concert in Moscow for peace right now.

Putin will accept the truth from the young people of Russia, hopefully, we need for the young people to demand peace.

And the young people are the future. We need to have a future of peace and prosperity.

Salute,

Tony V.

Putin would call you a "U.I.", son.

Yes, because I do my research. At least into the interesting Russian "release" of The Death of Stalin , easily the funniest movie you will ever see where one of the main characters gets shot in the head and immolated at the end. But it is Beria, so it is all good.
