https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/20/health/florida-gender-affirming-care-health-department-guidance/index.html

Florida pretends they know better than the rest of the world.
Florida is hardly alone in its recommendations given that the history of gender dysphoria is rare (affecting 0.01%of the population) and, if left alone, most to nearly all children  out grew its symptoms.

What we have today is a social contagion cum political maelstrom that is crying out for a pause button.
Florida and other states are rising to that conclusion.

Red states spasming into a last gasp attempt to shovel the shit white supremacy, xenophobia and homophobia against the tide that will this country to a multicultural, multiracial democracy.

SCOTUS illustrates in bold, underscored fashion, that some citizens are more equal than others in ways beyond 'merely' lacking the right to representation in Congress or voting for president.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/21/politics/puerto-rico-supreme-court-federal-disability-benefits/index.html

It seems that the residents of Puerto Rico are not eligible for the same SSI disability coverage as somebody from one of the 50 states.

While this has not yet been a problem for DC, one wonders what the 8-1 decision portends for future administrative decisions. It also provides a new reason for Puerto Rico to want to be a state.

Unsurprisingly, I hold with Sotomayor's dissent.

The Biden administration had defended the exclusion, noting that most Puerto Ricans are exempt from federal taxes, so Congress could take into consideration that reduced contribution when excluding them from some disability benefits. A government lawyer stressed that it would be up to Congress to extend the benefits, and President Joe Biden has already called on Congress to do so.

Nobody seems to know what the correct answer to what the definition of a woman is that won't get them into 'trouble'...so everyone is running a mile from the question. Kinda like that 'black lives matter/'all lives matter' drama. Say the wrong thing and it's bye bye to you.

The answer the Suppreme Court nominee refused to give was "whoever feels like one and wants to be identified as woman".

Angelo's and Vinci's Ristorante

1 hour

It's hard to picture Italian food without tomatoes, but they're not actually native to Europe. The Spanish explorer Cortez brought them back from Mexico in 1519, and it took another 200 years for tomato sauce to become standard Italian fare.

----------

The Mexicans eat scrambled eggs with cactus, with tortillas and salsa, and it would be a good food for people in areas where they are starving. And it is happening, the prickly pear cactus is growing in areas where hunger is an issue, it is a blessing for the people, they can eat cactus with scrambled eggs.

The same way that tomatoes made their way to Europe and helped to feed people, then so too can the prickly pear cactus help to feed people in Africa, etc.

The Africans can eat the cactus. The cactus is a blessing. The Africans can learn from the Mexicans.

Too bad - they were nice kids.
Why am I not surprised you support this. It is of course right wing doctrine that parents should have control over the curriculum. Provided you are white conservative Christians complaining about liberals and not African American or mixed race people identifying racism in instruction.

Because Congress is always so responsible.
Congress created the problem.
8 Justices spotted it.
One just ignored what the Law says.
