Good point, Josh.

Ward always seems to get hung up on spreading malicious fraud for some reason,

John Oliver fans may have seen this.  Not a regular, but my daughter sent this (because she's coping with this difficult situation atm), and I think Oliver just nailed it.

I saw this shit coming in the eighties as I became aware of the proliferation of REIT funds.

The comments on the Rush fan earned a laugh.

Today is the anniversary of the French capitulation to the Germans (1940) and the German invasion of Russia (1942). It also marked the end of the battle for Okinawa.

But on this day in 1944, FDR signed the Servicemen's Readjustment Act, which would become known as the G.I. Bill of Rights. While it was unfairly implemented at the start, the Bill overall did far more good than harm.

Tammany examples to list in this space.  Even if I added news ones on a Daley basis.

I'll (US) GRANT you that.

There have always been good and bad people, but we rarely had people at the top who were as corrupt as Trump.

I guess you never heard of Nixon or Reagan or Harding or Jefferson or Jackson or Johnson or Arthur?

Andrew Jackson was a bad one, and the Trail of Tears was horrible.

Many years ago I was trying to start my movie production company, and a professor in Texas helped me to write one script, and we worked well together, so I asked him to write a movie script about the Trail of Tears. I wanted to tell the story from the point of view of one Cherokee family, you get to know and love the family and you go through the crisis with the Cherokee family. I was going to send the finished script to Spielberg, it seemed like it would be a good one for Spielberg. But, I lost contact with the writer, and I think he died a while back.

Anyhow, yes, Andrew Jackson was a bad one.

SCOTUS reaffirms the Second Amendment protects a right to own and carry a gun for protection anywhere it is needed.
Period.
Clarence Thomas,  at his finest, wrote the governing opinion for the 6-3 majority.
The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense is not a second-class right, subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees.
The exercise of other constitutional rights does not require individuals to demonstrate to government officers some special need.
The Second Amendment right to carry arms in public for self- defense is no different. New York s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms in public.

As Americans age then more Americans will own guns, as the old men cannot fight like they could when they were young, they now feel less safe, and they will carry guns.

Also, a lot of women are buying guns.

If I was wealthy then I would have an armed body guard, but as a poor man then I need to be able to carry a gun, especially as I get old and cannot fight like a young man anymore. When I find a wife then she can carry a gun in her purse.

And remember that we have bad groups of meth gangs like the White Supremacist gang the Nazi Low Riders, and other bad people.

We need to be able to own and carry guns, especially as we get older.

I support the Supreme Court decision.

A right that is hard to enforce is scarcely a right at all.

I am not sure folks like Ward with dementia, arthritis, and parkinsons to some degree or another waving guns around leaves anybody safe. They are a danger most of all to themselves.

This, more than the riot, is what the hearings should strive to illuminate for as many viewers as possible.

Kiwanis International

1 hour

Kiwanis is serious about youth protection. That is why we have created a toll-free, confidential helpline that can be used 24 hours a day by Kiwanis family members and the youth we serve.

To access the U.S. helpline, call 866-607-SAFE (7233).

The refugees need to have the telephone number for Kiwanis if they need help.
