I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and Constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.

Jefferson was prescient.
His written Constitution has been changed 27 times by amendments plus countless changes in the American political and legal system have come through judicial interpretation of existing laws, rather than the addition of new ones by the legislative branch.

News Item

The Supreme Court dealt a significant blow to the Biden administration climate change agenda, ruling Thursday that the Environmental Protection Agency cannot pass sweeping regulations that could overhaul entire industries without additional congressional approval.

Note to other alphabet federal agency bureaucrats. This goes for you, too.
Oooooh.
Congress has to actually do work?
Horrors!

cnn.com/videos/politics/2022/06/29/secret-service-donald-trump-cassidy-hutchinson-january-6-hearing-nr-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/this-week-in-politics/

My operating assumption is that Hutchinson was told that, because she has little reason to have made it up.

I fully expect the Secret Service to deny they ever said it because to do otherwise damages (further) their ability to be trusted to keep confidential the affairs of any president. That applies whether it happened or it did not happen.

But as previously noted, if they testify about this, what other questions will they be called upon to answer?

Trump corrupted the USSS.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/secret-service-agents-denying-cassidy-hutchinsons-claim-were-trump-yes-men-wapo-reporter-tells-maddow

I am pretty sure that every president has agents who will side with him regardless of cost.

But ""There was a very large contingent of Donald Trump's detail who were personally cheering for Biden to fail. And some of them even took to their personal media accounts to cheer on the insurrection and the individuals riding up to the Capitol as patriots. That is problematic," Leonnig said."

This is just true.

Never to this extent.

The Secret Service kept Woodrow Wilson and FDR health issues secret; why would they not keep Trump s mental health issues secret as well?
Even if more than 2/3 of the country knew about them for years.

They also enabled JFK to literally whore around.

But show me another example of a USSS agent take a leave and become a political appointee (Deputy Chief of Staff) to the principal.

Somehow I think my right wing friends who fill my Facebook with WE articles will miss this one.

But, was not the WE the original source of the Steele memorandum?
