Take heed indeed...

Octung, beaches!
This one was easy to see coming.

How can you Americans lecture us on democracy? Sometimes, the president who ends up in your White House is not even the person who got the most votes.

Except of course that has never happened in our system.
But never mind. The answer to a dying democracyis to change to a popular vote outcome and elect only democrats!
ROFL!

Except of course that has never happened in our system.

Here comes the Electoral College qualifier if you point out Gore got 545,000 more votes than Bush and Clinton received 3 million more votes than Trump.

So I did it for him.
Even so, he is wrong. John Quincy Adams came in second in electoral votes to Andrew Jackson in 1824 and was named president by the House (four Democrats got electoral votes that year). He lost the popular.vote to Jackson.

Also, Rutherfraud B. Hayes lost both the popular and but for fraud, the electoral votes. 2020 is not the first time Republicans used a fake elector scheme. Just the first time it did not work. Also also, Benjamin Harrison lost the popular vote.
None of which alters my post.
But it does prove once again you cannot admit error, even your obvious errors. Beehive as expectorated.
I made no errors.

That you will admit to.

Lie, deny, and obfuscate.
No President of the USA has ever  been elected with a minority of votes as laid out in the Constitution.
I suggest you look it up.

And there is the mealy-mouthed Ward, as predicted many posts ago.

So what if one of the elections was corrupt? (At least one, that is.) Corrupt is included in the Constitution, in Ward's view.
Okay.
You never read the Constitution nor the election results.
And you are supposed to be the Global Moderator?
Of what?
Fucking stupidity of American History?

Goodbye, Ward.

The Jan6 ShitShow rolls on
Trump looks bad(justifiably)
TV ratings sag
dems could be wiped out in midterms
Biden numbers CRASH
Trump 2024 chances rise

And our democracy is dying?

Getting you and every crook like you off the streets would make democracy healthier immediately.

Ward is constituted entirely of corruption, so QED.

Republicans have peeled off between 10 to 20 percent of their traditional support in every race in the country this cycle. Sixty percent of republicans are unthinking sheep who will vote R regardless. Twenty percent are super trumpy Nazis and another twenty percent are otherwise reasonable cheap bastards. There is no way to appeal to one of these two later groups without alienating a good chunk of the other enough that they stay home or cast protest votes. This, along with the Great Gross Cracker Dieoff that started well before 2020, will cause a surprising realignment leftward when the dust is settled and the votes have been tallied. It may even come soon enough to save the world from the vast right wing conspiracy that threatens to destroy it, if we work hard for our salvation.

Quote
Within the past few weeks, states have proposed, passed or implemented a wide range of restrictions that go far beyond the doctor's office: banning mail-order medication, criminalizing the act of sharing information about abortion, barring librarians from using the word "abortion" in conversation with patrons.

No amount of mealy-mouthed assurances from the arch-conservative faction, whether here or elsewhere will dissuade us from trying to stop further encroachments on civil liberties. The notion that they believe they can put gag orders on librarians, preventing them from even uttering the word "abortion" is horrifying and any individual who does not repudiate such legislation or the legislators that propose or support that sort of bill does not deserve the mantle of "American."

Thumb up.  Banning words - can "Orwellian" be far behind?  All from the fascist playbook, the chapter on controlling all media and means of communication.  I'm curious if any state has succeeded passing the librarian gag law.

In what may be the most Christian moment ever in the history of the Catholic Church, the pope has apologized for the damage done to society by turning conservative religious ideas into policy.

Now that he has apologized, we must see that the same sort of mistake never happens again.

Nebraska was ready in November 1986.   What's also memorable is I voted for her Democratic opponent, who was also a woman and then mayor of my city.
