News Item Today

One of the labor unions representing U.S. railroad workers said its members rejected a tentative agreement its leaders had reached, a setback in efforts to avoid a potential strike that would disrupt the movement of goods across the country.

Imagine Pandemic supply chain messes on steroids.
7000 daily freight chain shutdowns along with Amtrak and various regional commuting lines who share tracks owned by Freight lines.
And the Biden Administration will own the mess it causes.

Woo hoo!

Everyone knows the immigration system was screwed up by your side.

So now SCOTUS says this administration can scrap the dumbass remain Mexico system less than a month ago sow now wingers are running out of time to scare voters.

Caravans did not work in 2018 so you need a new scare tactic...

What will it be this time, dirigibles full of migrants flying over the wall to seek asylum?

Trump isn't in charge now

Own it.

Now that SCOTUS has tossed Trump policy into the trash it is now up to Biden to fix what your boy fucked up.

Now the only thing standing in the way of effective systems and methods are Republican border governors.

Greg Abbott has lost control of the border, and the economy, and the power grid, and the narrative in Texas.

Back Beto for a better tomorrow.

you dont know curriculum

Its Ok.  Blind parents leap to join you.

Most kids are unaffected, thankfully.
I know curriculum. If you think critical race theory is part of it in public schools, you do not.

It was the legalistic version of trump infrastructure week.

Now it is as dead as the soul of the republican party.

I warned you.

Amtrak said it would suspend all long-distance train services starting Thursday to avoid disruptions from a potential strike by freight rail workers, as negotiations between railroads and labor unions approach a Friday deadline.

Union's demands have merit.  Being penalized for getting sick and getting medical attention, or for refusing to work 14 days straight, is not humane policy.

It was railroad strikes, historically, that brought labor reforms we now take for granted.

We saw all that in the trump years along with morgue trucks.

Workers need to get paid.

Keep marching.

As long as you aren't the one working 14 straight, right?

RedDickJimmEspn hates America. That is why he is rooting for a strike, he thinks it will help Repos in November. No matter how many real people it hurts.

It might behoove you to study the issue.

The impasse is over scheduling since the Government has proposed a 24 per cent increase in pay.
Biden and his Presidential Emergency Board have resisted including 15 days sick leave in the contract arguing those issues should be settled through the grievance and arbitration process. Republican senators have proposed a joint resolution to avoid a strike by adopting the Biden proposal.  Enter  Bernie Sanders who blocked it.
Now it it takes 60 votes to proceed with Republicans promising 48 votes.
How is it we are six weeks from midterms with a crippling railroad strike just days away?
Another failure of Biden in bringing people together which should have been done months ago in this case.

Mr. Biden and his economic team have been inserting themselves into final-hour negotiations between rail unions and large rail companies, which are at loggerheads over scheduling and sick time. Labor groups have insisted that employees be able to take unpaid time off for physician appointments, a request railroad companies have been unwilling to grant.
